Lol 18z EPS shifted the vortex back west and delayed the cold quite a bit, like the GFS, never fails
Thinking about chasing in Boothville Louisiana to catch some gulf effect snow squalls.

No. Chance of thunder showers with backside snow. No mention of thunder snow whatsoever.

If there is snow that actually accumulates in the Gulf, I’m definitely going to call this a new Ice Age.
Back and forth from run to run. Not surprising. 0Z will be one of the most important runs of our wx lives. Anyone setting their Doc/EPS alarm?
In the meantime, this was just a Happy Hour run. So, since SouthernWx has given us “pardon” power for the 18Z, we toss.
By the way, though it is warmer than the 12Z, it is still slightly colder than the 0Z.

Wrong. If you see the point forecast someone posted, thunder and snow do match up. There is no mention about only thunder before snow. Sorry.
ICON isn't starting the night off on a good foot it would appear.

The final one looks like it's going to probably be a go again on this run, but I will say the HP is weaker and the SE ridge is a little stronger.

I still bet we get ice here sometime next week. That shallow cold air always seems to work it’s way into the area.
