Same here in Southern Chatham County! Asbury area! I have a video of some flurries I took at 6am but can’t figure out how to upload it!
Wake/Granville boarder --> I'm at 34 degrees and getting very light rain. Maybe some of the heavier returns will briefly add some sleet.

Starting as sleet/ice pellets up here in Roanoke. 32/23
Ok Augusta now you get an ice storm. Everyone gets an ice storm! Lol

I spoke to soon, I have few sleet pellets mixing in. They're pretty good size as well.

Most recent runs of NAM HRRR a little drier and radar looks kind of lame to the west. We still have dew points around 23 so should cool a little if things ever get going. Hoping HRRR is more on target with the snow late.
Or better than being on the coast today and jumping up to near 70. **thinking about it, that could be fun....39/36F here, I guess it's better than 33 and rain!
34/32 up to .38 of rain
34/31, and no ZR. Very similar to the other ice events the past two/three years.

I've got three kids going to Appalachian State, one just texted me and said they were getting a mix of sleet and freezing rain. He said it looked like they had some snow mixed earlier.

Actually yeah it would, certainly some potential for isolated supercells &/or tornadoes on the Outer Banks

Well, here's proof that our high pressures don't always verify weaker than forecast. How about that 1040 in a pretty good location??? Maybe we can get another good setup over the next few weeks.

32/31 here with a light glaze on trees and the deck. Will be interesting if that band can set up and produce around lunch
Edit- Took the dogs out, the wind has picked up and you can hear the limbs creaking as they sway with the ice on it.

Good to hear reports of light glaze in the western & NW piedmont of NC this morning, curious what the radial ZR measurements are on tree branches (in hundredths of an inch)?
I'm assuming most places probably don't have much more than 0.1" atm, but I'm not sure.
From the many storms I've analyzed going back to the late 1800s in NC, ZR reports especially in low end events, are hard to verify and quantify because most observers usually report light glaze and don't provide actual ice amounts, which means ZR data is usually less reliable and harder to come by than snow & sleet. Certainly might seem dumb at first, but it really goes a long way in better understanding winter storms like this one

Might get 60-65 here for a bit before we crash back into the low 40's, so we will go from the current 40ish all the way to 60ish then back to 40ish in the next 10 hrs or so....
