Really Gusting in downtown GSO with the buildings funneling the wind. Had to brace myself on one of the gusts.

Same over here near airport. Wind has been whipping it up good past 20 mins +. More than I thought. Power is flickering as well. should easily have over 50mph gust recorded already.

Seeing 44 mph gust reported at Triad airport; didn't think it would end up with more wind there than here (at least at lower elevations).

Power is back on after about 1hr. A few large limbs are down around the area and lots of leaves and pine needles on the roads. This was a quick hitter and wasn’t too bad in my hood. Trees probably lost about 30% of the leaves.
my pressure was 995.6 when we lost power at 4:15. Does the tempest store the data so I can read it when the power is back?

52 MPH Albermarle, 47 GSO highest ive seen so far . these are in past 15 minutes or so. Sure its been higher, well see when all the data gets turned in
Every time I think we’re done another gust comes through. That one was probably ~40mph

What a storm! How is Birdman faring?
It's coming hoffman just gusted into the mid 40s albemarle and int are in the 40s. Sanford and SOP are mid 30s

No rain from the main core, and now the squall line is dissipating. Crazy, tropical storm moving through the state, Im on the eastern side and cant get any rain.
Power flickering, but not enough to shut things down.

The models are beefing up the 900-925mb wind field as the jet interaction is better ( or stronger ) than modeled ( maybe since the storm deepened so much late ) and now it looking like it actually gets stronger the closer to the coast it gets....so maybe the 50-55 mph stuff will be more widespread, gonna be in and out fast though probably only a hr or so of gust like that....
Zeta’s center passed right over my area. Look at that drop!

Power out here in Marietta since about 5 a.m. Have never been so nervous about wind - my daughter kept saying she felt the house was "breathing". The trees that were lost fell away from the house, thankfully.

I’ve been up off and on since 4 this morning as the worst of the wind and rain was moving in. The winds weren’t as bad as Irma was, but it was still a rough go of it, it was really roaring out there. I heard what sounded like a transformer blowing out off in the distance, but thankfully I didn’t lose power. It flickered a couple times and the cable boxes kept shutting off and rebooting but that was it. I haven’t left the house yet, but from what I’ve seen no tree damage outside other than a long skinny tree branch that almost stretches from the left/right side of the backyard fence sitting in the middle of the backyard. I know some trees have fallen near me per watching some local news this morning tho. My sister and my nieces and nephew are in East Point they lost power, but got it back around an hour ago.
We got ours posted around 1600 yesterday from AKQ.

I think you got a wind advisory still. they got upgraded to high wind warning....
Had a 21 mph gust earlier. Seems to be dying down now.
Also, seeing the clouds absolutely booking it is insane. They were going north when I got up this morning, now flying east.

It’s really just getting started here in Raleigh I’m by PNC arena and I’m getting frequent heavy gusts now shaking the building
I'm pretty frequent in the 20-30mph range and that's on my station at 6ft

RDU will get 40-50 easy.....starting anytime now.....if not already, upside is this thing is booking it so peak conditions should be maybe 1-2 hrs...
Well just ripped a 30 mph gust here and it's really not here yet
I need to get my station on top of the house.
