There's not even a remote chance that Fedex or UPS would be shut down - freight transportation companies are considered essential services. The US is even permitting Fedex cargo to continue operations to/from the hotbed of Europe.

That's good to hear. I checked Fedex in Spain and they basically said "expect delays". lol

Just another way for govt to take rights away.
Hell to the no! That’s a call to revolt... or toss phones...ok just ditch the phone is better.

It is I have seen numbers like 25-50k current cases as the low end 75-150k as the high end with these numbers expected to double a few times before the shutdowns really start to slow it down....
Then that’s a .065% cfr on the high side and .39% on the low side. Tell me again why we are making millions unemployed for this?

Hate to keep hammering on our Gov in Georgia, but I don’t think He gets it. Refusing to implement CDC recommendations and close bars and non essential stores. He’s proud that by the end of the week Georgia can test 200 a day.
He’s approaching this with a good degree of balance so far. We don’t need to shut down everything. Just shelter the vulnerable, if they wish it.

Because the alternative would be millions dead, pretty good reason huh....so if we did nothing just went with it what would happen to the economy when tens of thousands of people died every month, the healthcare system implodes, its all about in trying to manage it, which is what is happening....

Sometimes I wonder would it have been best to ignore this virus. Considering the fatality rate is so low. A majority of people having very minor symptoms. Is all of this worth a Great Depression? A total collapse of the countries economy? I don’t know but then I I think I’m foolish for thinking we should ignore it. But then you wonder why isn’t the flu which is more deadly taken more seriously. But I don’t know anymore what I think just got to wait and hope for the best.

We were ignoring it for three months and were just fine. Yes, we should go back to work! But some of us should take added precautions.

But 200 tests a day by weeks end? That’s un acceptable when you have a city the size of Atlanta. Story after story of people being turned down for testing in metro area because they are told there isn’t enough tests.

This is why the government has to step in, people can't be trusted to do what needs to be done. Just because it wasn't a problem the last three months doesn't mean it won't be a problem for the next few months or even year. What's the point of closing schools and churches if you let bars and restaurants stay open?

Because the alternative would be millions dead...tb makes millions dead and we don’t care enough to stop those deaths, do we? What’s the point of saving lives when you magnify collateral damage to all people? Civil wars and starvation, the health care system is gone either way, because when the shut down is over, who’s going to be able to afford it? When the economy balances at pre World War Two levels, what happens to the multimillion people that are no longer needed?

Can’t we use statistical analysis to sample the population using a relative small number of tests to get an accurate baseline on the presence of infection? Why hasn’t this been done before shutting everything down?

The problem is we don't know how many deaths would occur if we ignored the problem.

How many deaths would be acceptable to continue on as we were?
