Political Thread

Wow this thread is becoming a disaster again of "You don't love America if you don't support Trump, or you hate Trump" again. Can we actually discuss politics like adults and not accuse one another of such?

Everyone across every party isn't doing enough compared to other countries. That's why we have cases growing rapidly. What makes it worse is they're being hush hush about it and acting like everything is going to get better fast. They're ALL in denial and need to be held accountable.
Are you sure we aren't handling it well or is that just your opinion? The government cant hold your friggin hands and make you take the proper precautions. Most of the responsibility for containing this falls at the feet of your neighbors and community and hoping they are intelligent enough to do the right things. I think when this gets under control most of us will look back favorably on how we as a country did everything we could possibly do within reason.

Yes because there is only one source of information that you can use as a golden book of fact which who knows what that is to you. No need to criticize something without a valid rebuttal. Read it and compare it to other information before you deem it as fake.
CNN = BS...That's just how I feel about them. Hell its probably written off of a template with some words rearranged to fit the narrative of the day. That's just how bad they have become when it comes to Trump

I'm not going to use panic as a point, but with what Trump is wanting to do with the payroll tax cut to 0%, that's not the best way to handle an incoming recession caused by a virus panic and economic slowdown. Every state is handling it differently. NY quarantined an entire region for example. Other states are just watching at the moment. I get it's not going to be some massive plague that kills a large amount of people, but when national and state governments aren't on the same page, they are setting themselves up for a diplomatic nightmare. Also what are you implying by saying "The government cant hold your friggin hands"? Are you trying to say that we should let them do nothing to contain the virus? The panic caused everyone to over prepare so it's not like nobody is taking proper precautions. People are either following quarantine or not as well. We can't shut life down as a precaution nationwide as well. From the way things look, I think they need to be honest to people, get on the same page, and develop a strong plan instead of a rushed one like they all have been recently. I don't see how you can't see that we are responding to this so sluggishly. Unless you're in denial like a lot of people are, this thing is going to kill a lot more at risk people than it should.

While parts of them are BS like their opinion parts, which like any news source are, there are a few valid points in there. You'd be surprised if I happened to find a CNN article and pull a quote from it that chances are you wouldn't be able to identify the source unless I told you. You have to look at all angles to get real facts, not twisted ones or completely fabricated ones. That involves using several sources of all sides.

From what I've seen of CNN just flipping channels, it would help if they would actually report factual news that they have done research on instead of just hearsay....They report news from sources who don't have a clue what they're talking about...Anything to be the first network to get out the juicy goods on Trump or make him look bad...They are pathetic if you ask me....A majority of Americans are on to them and know that most of their news is garbage

I prefer to read all the sides which means many news sources. You've got the center-left and right (cnn and fox), you've got the extremes (Breitbart and MSNBC), you've got the staples (NYTIMES, WAPO, WSJ, etc.) and the internationals (Reuters, AP, AJ). I don't want to be in a echo-chamber for my news.

The coronavirus is the perfect example of getting news from multiple sources to determine what actual truth lies in the middle of it all.

If you put 100 even killed people in a room and asked them to rate how the government has done handling a new virus tou ate gonna get 100 opinions. You cant deny that the media (especially those who hate Donald Trump) have been anything but irresponsible. Like Dr Drew said to them.....shut the hell up. If I am going to read something about a virus outbreak, link me to an article that says "25 things you can do to preparefir carona virus". I dont care to read anything regarding CNN's views on Trump's handling of this. I slready know the answer. Its a complete waste of 5 minutes of my life.....

Trump enacted a travel ban just 3 weeks after the outbreak in China from those regions and was called a xenophobe by Sen. Chuck Shumer and others. I just don't get it.... the only way to come close to stopping it is for a gov't to treat it's citizens like the Communist regime of China. Mandatory lock-down, enforced by military, literally dumping truckloads of dirt on highways to block movement, heck they're probably shooting citizens that don't comply (new flash China gov't controls information flow), this ain't China, we aren't a communist country. We are a free people and I agree 100% it's not government's place to hold everyone's hands and make them take necessary precautions. Actually this is what happens when a society as a whole has become too dependent on the government..

He did good with the China ban weeks ago. Now him and Pence can quit talking about it daily, lol. We've got people from Italy walking right through airports not even being checked (documented). Hopefully this is what he will be addressing tonight.

NOBODY should be condemning the President in a time like this. Its embarassing no matter how much someone hates him. I guess its the respect i have for the office he presides in......

I don’t care for him personally but I fully agree with you. Stand behind our elected leader. Guess that’s the former military man in me.

That military NEVER leaves you....I think thats especially true when you have gone through the hell of combat. Respecting leadership tops the list even if you flip the @#$% off when he exits the ops room....

That sounds familiar. Been there, done that. Also been ranting about command when the XO walked back in. Not my finest hour.

Does the good idea fairy make her way into every unit? I swear that bizAch was at my command at least twice a week making her presence known.

It’s going to be extremely difficult to unseat this president. I’m very anti-Biden but I voted for Obama once. Biden would need one hell of a VP pick to stand a chance to winning. Anyone suggesting otherwise is likely a die hard liberal. I’m unaffiliated and I think the odds are around 90% Trump is getting another 4 years.

Hopefully Klobuchar, who’s fairly moderate and fairly young as well as apparently healthy. I feel good vibes about her as she seems upbeat and has a pleasant personality (actually better than Biden’s).

The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a win to President Trump on Wednesday by allowing his administration to enforce the "Remain in Mexico" asylum policy as litigation surrounding it continues.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals had said a week earlier that it would block the policy in Arizona and California, the two border states where its authority extends. The Trump administration then turned to the Supreme Court for relief.
