Ahh Brent, I thought you were there then. That was one beautiful I-20 special from Dallas to Columbia.
Just some thoughts on the CAD storm showing up on the GFS inside D10
A.) it’s going to be contingent on that coastal bombing out over the Atlantic prior keeping our high from retreating too quickly
B.) there’s a another low pressure system (circled in red) over the Atlantic that our coastal consolidates with as it bombs out helping to spin in cold air in and restrengthen our high pressure.
I would like to see how the Atlantic evolves from here assuming we keep this general setup..which I doubt

Most would be complaining about areas near them getting more even if the amount they’re getting is the most they’ve had in their lifetime and thus they not enjoying it.

If the models were forecasting 12.4” and folks instead got, say, 6”, and that 6” was the most they ever got in their lives by far, I’d expect many of those folks to complain about being robbed instead of being excited about the biggest snow of their lives.
I just checked and they aren't on ignore. I start typing "ll" and the only person who comes up for me is, "llpoolej"

Boy 6 would be gravy. No one should complain about anything after the last few years. Heck just seeing snow is a win in my book.

I was living in Alabama then it was still pretty good there(among my top snowstorms since 93)
Aaahhhh Opening with the old "gotta get the first storm out of the way so the models can see the second storm clearly" technique, I see. Good. Good.
Well, I'll counter with the "there's too much energy flying around for the models to get a handle on it" gambit.
Check.
They shouldn’t but certain folks are never satisfied unless they have what the model movies showed and unless they also got as much as everyone else within a 200 mile radius.
And heaven forbid if anyone south of them got more than them.
Heck yeah baby!
