Its pretty much impossible to go back on to the gold standard......it wont happen anytime soon for sure.

Yeah there is no way there is enough gold out there to cover it at current gold prices.....so what would happen is the price of gold would go insane and go from 2k a ounce to 10-15k a ounce.....it would also devalue the dollar significantly.....I am sure CR can give a better answer....

It's crazy to think 100 years ago one ounce gold coins were worth 20.00
 
Morrison testimony today suggest Sondland has some splaining to do.....thisfor those not sure why it is important is proof of Quid Pro Quo meaning Trump was withholding aid in return for a investigation...

In preparation for my appearance today, I reviewed the statement Ambassador Taylor provided this inquiry on October 22, 2019. I can confirm that the substance of his statement, as it relates to conversations he and I had, is accurate. My recollections differ on two of the details, however. I have a slightly different recollection of my September 1, 2019 conversation with Ambassador Sondland. On page 10 of Ambassador Taylor's statement, he recounts a conversation I relayed to him regarding Ambassador Sondland's conversation with Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Yermak. Ambassador Taylor wrote: "Ambassador Sondland told Mr. Yermak that security assistance money would not come until President Zelensky committed to pursue the Burisma investigation." My recollection is that Ambassador Sondland's proposal to Mr. Yermak was that it could be sufficient if the new Ukrainian prosecutor general—not President Zelensky—would commit to pursue the Burisma investigation. I also would like to clarify that I did not meet with the Ukrainian National Security Advisor in his hotel room, as Ambassador Taylor indicated on page 11 of his statement. Instead, an NSC aide and I met with Mr. Danyliuk in the hotel's business center.
 
His statement confirming a QPQ but then saying he thinks nothing illegal happened sums up the moral degradation of the GOP.

This doesn't help, but it is accurate, Trump has long done illegal unethical stuff in his business practices and was use to paying off people or getting a blind eye turned his way. Heck with the ego he has he probably doesn't think he is doing anything illegal.....to bad for him it is and now he is being held accountable.

Has anyone questioned their deep conviction on impeachment or no impeachment, as in asking yourself am I wrong? I sure have. We all should reflect.

I got a tax cut and I'm not a big business. They are building new manufacturing plants in my area. Dips in the market are normal and have already happened. People are happy and working....People are working and spending. I'm about to build my second house in two years. Speaking of houses. Real estate is on fire. Anything that is livable sells. Any property unless it's very large and way high priced sells immediately. Trump is good for me and most people I know. He is smart and loves the country. Period. Why wouldn't he? He has thrived here and wants it to stay great. Not perfect and not a perfect plan and it's going to take a while to undo what's been done. But he will do it. Along with the patriots and American loving folks. Are you a patriot? Do you love this country? I do more than I ever have. I despise politics but it's time dig deep and know the truth.

Are you kidding? 1.5 million people were taken off of the voter rolls in CA. That's just one example. Are you kidding. You don't think that the swamp mafia would do a thing like that? They have been caught with proof? Facts are facts. The voter fraud unit hasn't even really come out with hard facts yet. I'm suspecting that will be talked more about near election time. Why do you dislike Trump anyway? Just curious. The dems havn't done anything for you or anybody else. The fake impeachment is crap and it is fake. They just talk about it so you will think its going to happen. Sad really...The dems wanted to impeach at the beginning...it's all they have left. But it won't work. Nothing will save the corrupt. Nothing....

Nah, you got it right. Gold would probably need to be up at $10k/oz. Reengineering the monetary system would be quite complicated. There are a variety of schools of thought about how this could best be accomplished. One way, is to back currency with hard assets, gold being the most logical asset. Of course, that would mean the current paradigm we've been accustomed to forever of deficit spending and borrowing to oblivion would cease to exist. You could also go the domestic currency and offshore currency route. That would most likely lead to decreased purchasing power on the domestic front, though, as the domestic currency would end up devalued over time.

Either way, the gold price is eventually going much higher. It's been in a sneaky uptrend since 2015. And it's because there's no way to turn off the monetary spigot now. It's a race to the bottom for world currencies. The US just has a little more time than everyone else. But gold will benefit.

Personally I really don't care other than its just more hypocrisy. We have a corrupt President being impeached by corrupt Democrats while being defended by corrupt Republicans. More than likely he will be re-elected and the cycle will continue. Then when he leaves he will be replaced by more corruption.

Even Dave Ramsey says investing in gold is dumb. Amazing there are actual humans with primate brains out there that think Trump is some sort of financial genius.

At the end of the day even if this is the whistle blower it does not matter what his politics are......his statement has been corroborated numerous times by numerous individuals in the White House, heck Trump even released the part of the call where he ask for the investigation....so if nothing he reported is untrue frankly that is all that matters......even if his reasoning for coming forward is politically motivated how does that change the facts of what Trump did.

Trump asked for an investigation into corruption, nothing illegal about that and we've discussed that. Now we can debate motive, personally I think the guy (as I've stated before) let's his emotions get to him, like a 12 yr old sometimes, and he can't let things go. With that said he is still furious over the fake dossier and DNC corruption that tried to sink his election before he was ever elected back in 2016. I'm sure he resents Biden/Obama/Clinton's for the 2016 issues and I think he was hoping this investigation by Ukraine (because the DNC corruption issues went through Ukraine's own corrupt political highways at that time) would also dig up items on the Clinton's and shed light on the DNC corruption (and it still might, or would if the current Dem crowd didn't bamboozle it with a trumped up impeachment allegation). The left talking points are this, that his actions are directly linked to the 2020 elections, if his actions and his intent were proven to be entirely based on tampering with the 2020 elections then let's escort him out the door. I just don't think that's what his intent was, he's mad and he wants the corruption investigated. You've stated before if he was looking into corruption than why isn't he investigating others not just Biden, well if his intent is to tamper with the 2020 elections than why is he just investigating Biden and not Sanders, Warren, Harris, Booker, etc? Argument goes both ways.

If any other president was in office other than Trump and they were investigating corruption of Gov't officials you and many others would be applauding it.

As to the WB and his political bias, yeah it matters because it shows a heavily left biased process from day one and regardless of what other facts may come out, it taints that process, taints those statements, facts, going forward at least in the minds of the general public. Fruit of the poison tree if you will. Most don't trust the process anyway and add the fact that the guy who initiated the whole allegation was after Trump from day one and involved in 2016 tactics to oust Trump then, well will not sit well with many. No wonder the Dems have been trying to conceal this guy and protect him to no end.

It is illegal for Trump to ask someone to do something that personally benefits him while in the capacity of president if the USA, so at best this is a extremely gray area, saying he is in his right to specifically ask a country to investigate a political rival is probably wrong......in fact it probably is illegal the head of the FEC pretty much said so......secondly impeachment in not a criminal process no actual crime has to occur.....if the Senate decides it was unethical and against his oath of office to ask then he can be removed....this is all without considering the quid pro quo aspect.

Trump can not under any circumstances withhold approved aid and limit access to the US government in return for personal favors.......him asking Ukraine to investigate Biden is not legal no matter how the WH or the GOP wants to spin it....if it was legal and the up and up why are folks like Bolton, Dr Hill, Vindman etc going to lawyers and reporting it.

Lastly we will agree to disagree on the politics of the WB.......if Trump did something unethical and illegal that is 100% on Trump, it would not matter who caught or reported him....if Trump does not do illegal and unethical stuff then even oif the guy was "after him from day 1" they would never have something to "report" if this guy was after him Trump made it easy for him.......still does not change that Trump owns what Trump did....the buck stops here remember.

So being a political rival gives you immunity from being investigated when you commit illegal or corrupt unethical activities, when you were a government official, in foreign countries? I think you've found the loophole of all loopholes...

But I'll end with this. If Trump was wrong so was Biden and to @snowlover91 points earlier, if one is wrong then both are wrong... go ahead lock up Trump up but Biden better be in the cell beside him.

If you can prove Biden did something illegal lock him up I am 100% in agreement , same goes for anyone else in DC I do not care what letter is beside their name. The Ukrainians never had a reason to investigate Biden Sr as there is no evidence he did anything illegal....what is it that Biden Sr is suppose to have done that warrants investigation......I am still confused by this.

I don't however agree that if one gets away with it they all should, it comes down to proof, the GOP could not prove that Hillary or Obama did anything illegal or unethical to the point they could impeach them, trust me they tried. Now the shoe is on the other foot and Trump is clumping along happily feeding the Dems all the rope they need to hang him with.....again this is 100% on Trump.

There will be much more about this coming out, a lot of people are not really up to speed on the Rudy/Parnas/Fruman/Firtash angle working here either....these Ukrainians were part of the corrupt government back when the Ukraine president was a Russian puppet, same guy Manafort worked with and was buddy buddy with.....when he was forced out they all fled to avoid corruption charges etc....Parnas/Fruman have a company named Fraud Guarantee ( no really that's the name ) and that company was used to funnel hundreds to thousands of dollars from people like Firtash to Republican's.....including Trump.
