Yeah this is one of the worse case scenarios for a late season cold snapYep everything is popping quickly. Nothing like an early spring green up that will get zapped in a couple of weeks

Are you saying there are signs of major cold on the way in the next few weeks ?Yep everything is popping quickly. Nothing like an early spring green up that will get zapped in a couple of weeks
By the end of May it's pretty much routine summer weather in most of North GA. It seems like we usually have our first 90 degree day in the last 10 days of May.Oh, May weather here is more like low to mid 80s, and if we're unlucky, high 80s to low 90s. Today is more like April weather. It felt nice, I'll be honest, especially after a dreary Saturday, and in the sun it almost felt hot.
I really wouldn't be shocked to see a freeze around the 10thAre you saying there are signs of major cold on the way in the next few weeks ?
Especially up our way, a March hard freeze is certainly a possibility. In fact I think it happened last year, seems I remember my centipede grass coming out then a big frost and it burned some of it back....had a few bare spots from thatAre you saying there are signs of major cold on the way in the next few weeks ?
is there a link to get that anytime? on a side note, the 18Z has 38 as my coldest reading over the next 16 days at Huntsville...good griefAnother fantastic Febumay afternoon
Where the heck do you live because in GA 73-75 in May would be below normal.Felt more like late march/early april today with highs in the middle 60s... looks like May weather by mid week with highs near 73-75... average high doesn't reach that high until the last day or April and beginning of May(based off accuweather and weather.com averages). Unreal! Seeing some blooms here, but not as much as others are reporting. My entire subdivisions Bermuda is still dormant thankfully... but it won't be for much longer =/ I can hear the mower now =/
Maybe a grilling thread would be more appropriate? :-D

I tried to use WeatherBell, I don't like how the interface is. Accuwx Pro is easy, you can put any weather model you want all on one page. I agree, WeatherBell has some nice maps. Accuwx has upgraded their maps and they look better than they did. And yup, that's true, most of your money is going towards the Euro EPS and the weeklies, that data is hard to come by with free sites.
Well just remember our "Easster Dreeze" in 2007.. Heavy losses to fruit crops and significant tree defoliation[/QUOTE
There's nothing new under the sun. In the 60's and 70's when we had colder and snowier winters, many, and I many springs, there were fruit crops, especially peaches that suffered losses from frosts after blooming.
