Yep, that's what she just said. She sent me some grainy sasquatch video, but you could hear it hitting the house and see it bouncing. She saved a couple big ones in the freezer. I'll confirm later. I always miss the good stuff, ug!
 
Storm just got warned going into Smithfield with radar indicated tornado. I'm to the North of what looks like the worst.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
North central Wayne County in central North Carolina...
Southwestern Wilson County in central North Carolina...
East central Johnston County in central North Carolina...

* Until 230 PM EDT

* At 155 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Smithfield, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and golf ball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Goldsboro, Smithfield, Fremont, Micro, Selma, Pine Level, Kenly,
Princeton, Lucama and Pikeville.

Yeah looks like it may be around Micro, terrible timing for radar maintenance

Forgive my ignorance, does NWS RAH rely on surrounding area radar stations or do they use WTVD's or WRAL's own radar stations be able to supplement while KRAX is down? Also, is there away to view other local radar's velocity map using an app such as MyRadar?
 
Just got out and rode around through what should have been affected area's between Smithfield and Kenly.... No damage and did not see any hail on ground, but looked to be hail fog all around. I'm guessing that the size was not too great as there were no leftovers. No indication of any wind or tornado damage. Did not go east of 95 though.
