Wintry January 29th-30th ARCC Slam Dunk Winter Weather Threat

Is it technically a bust if BMX downgrades to an advisory ahead of time?
I don't think so. The models trend at the time were pretty good for what they issued. I am sure after all the 12z and 18z runs are completed today they will reevaluate the situation.

I'm thinking the Southern shift is about done...Several days ago models were saying the area of concern was basically the I-59/I-20 corridor...I'm thinking that's going to be the sweet spot...We can enjoy digging out of our woefully pathetic 2 inches, but I will take it this Winter...It's left a lot to be desired

It sucks I have to ride the gfs over the short range models

Gfs continues to slow down a bit.

Is this a gfs slow down as in delaying on the storm, or speed?

I can’t imagine. GFS is saying 3” for some and short range models are saying a flurry if you’re lucky. I would ride the American model to the grave. Good luck everybody

Just my observation I may be interpreting things wrong. It seems to me that over the last couple days the gfs has been the most steady and consistent. Even as the other models have had some wild swings it has not been swayed. Of course it could just be it being the stubborn gfs

Something I've noticed is that the models seem to be trending worse for SE TN/NW GA but the NWS and local mets are remaining bullish on accumulation totals. What are they seeing that most of the models aren't showing?

I can say they have about 0.3 inches here now. But that's just FFC. I can't figure out Morristown's call map and why it's so high.

Well the latest CMC is definitely improved across the board for the SE compared to it's junky past runs definitely toward NAM and sorta GFS like but totals and temp still got ways to go further into AL/GA but steps in that direction
