Wintry January 29th-30th ARCC Slam Dunk Winter Weather Threat

Do you guys think even if most of the precip in GA was rain, could we be looking at a situation like 2014 when temps dropped so quick everything froze over? I know that the precip fell as snow during the event, but it was the rapid freeze that made the huge mess

Some Cobb outputs from the 18z NAM...
Montgomery .6
Anniston 1.7
Memphis 2.2
Huntsville 2.2
Tuscaloosa 2.5
Birmingham 2.6
Tupelo 2.9
Muscle Shoals 4.3
Chattanooga 4.4
Nashville 6.8

Where can I view the Cobb output for cities?

The 18z Euro says we are all wasting our times haha.

This has been an interesting storm to track. It started to the GFS looking great and everything else meh. Then the Euro started looking great and the GFS went dry. Now the GFS is trending better with the NAM, and the Euro goes hot and leaves us with zilch.

If that 18z euro verifies, then I’ll see you all next winter. Damn NWS starting to hype this up.

This could apply to other areas of the southeast aswell, watch the soundings as the short range models become the favored choice, if you see a convective sounding you could see good burst of snow around or in your area which can create some localized sweet spots

Whoever gets under the death band will be our winner. Where that forms is anyones guess at this point.
Yeah true, but my bets are that it'll be a 45 degree angle about 30 miles wide by 80 miles long and centered between Gadsden AL to Canton GA going off of the general idea IF we get a NAM like setup. If not there will just be a general light snow.

You need to stay out until my grass is white . Ever since you went negative a few days ago good things have happened

Which is why I'm riding the Euro. The NAM is temping me with 4-6" but I'm staying out of the Happy Smoke house with it.....

For the moment atleast.
