Misc 2019 Banter & Friendly Conservation

A few weeks ago I saw tons of birds flying south right before our pattern change, I think they saw a few of the fantasty GFS and Euro snows and thought they should go somewhere warmer. This morning I see lots of them hopping outside my window due to the 65F weather; they now realize spring is on the way and the GFS is junk!

How perfect would it be if the Coastal storm slammed the Carolina's somehow and then the frontal system gives the rest of the board some love. Would be a perfect scenario for all of us.

Good to see someone from Wilson. I lived there back in the 80's. My parents ran Kamper's Lodge on HWY 301 from '81 to '88. I have a brother who still lives in Kenley.

Buckle up. This may come as a shocker but the Euro just threw us a bone late in the run!
It’s not about the Op run, we toss!! The ensembles will fook us! Let me tell you about end of model run snowstorms, I’m up to 150” already this year!

I’m starting to feel optimistic now that the GEFS is leaving SC high and dry in the snow mean department. I’ve had a 5” mean 4 times this winter and that has amounted to 1” sleet accums. Look for Euro to have a big overrunning event showing up east of the mountains here in the next 48 hours

Euro control says most everyone will be happy just in time for the Super Bowl

Im not sure what everyone is seeing to get so excited, but it looks to me like next weeks event is a nuisance at best with maybe an inch or so ? Whats all the excitement about?
I’m sorry but this post is a little annoying. We all don’t have luxury of being way up north averaging 20 plus inches of snow a year like you do now. Models have been showing anywhere from 2-5 inches here and 1-3 south of here and that’s a big deal if you don’t live in northern Indiana.

I guess being up here for a year I forgot how even a minor snow event is a big deal in the south. My apologies.

Yes it’s easy to forget especially up there. Even being here in northern Tennessee it is a fine line of posting snow pictures out of excitement while at the same time trying not to come off as rubbing it in someone’s face. I never purposely try to do it but am guilty of it also due to my sheer love and joy for snow storms. Anyways let’s hope this one doesn’t dry out for any of us as so many of them do. 2 inches of snow will make me more then happy!

Man it went quiet in here, but anyways I haven’t changed my thoughts on Nc, altho I really do hope we can get a separate wave to develop for more expansive/heavier precip, with this setup it’s that type of thing where models will lose it than bring it back

Calm Before the Storm of 18z model runs. It will be jumping when all the snow is taken away.

Better dig the grave for those who will die by the 18z ? in all seriousness tho I’m more worried about tonight’s ensembles

This is the thread you come to when you are annoyed or in order to get annoyed. It’s working properly! :)

I’m convinced South Carolina will beat Clemson in football before Columbia will see snow again. This is getting ridiculous.
hahahahahahahah great comparison. Totally agree. If you think about it, the last time we beat Clemson was Fall of 2013 and we got a Winter storm that Winter. Ever since, Clemson has beat us... and guess what? We have not had a winter storm since the last year we beat them... hmmm

I have some sad news to announce.... This will be my last winter up here in Indiana. So I guess I better enjoy whatever snow I see the rest of the winter.
