I just looked and TWC no longer has a high wind forecast for us. We shall see. The 50-70 winds. And you're in a tornado watch and I'm not. Thank goodness for that river.Michael still looks very impressive after hours over land. I'm wondering if it's going to end up still being a weak hurricane/strong tropical storm (like I was warning my dad as a possibility) when it gets to me.
Edit: To add, although I haven't felt great today and yesterday, when I was looking through Brett Adair's footage, I was getting a little nauseated at it. There was a time when I was a youngin when I thought I'd go into meteorology (and my mom thought the same), but seeing that footage, man I couldn't do that.
If he is saying that about PC, what does the east quad look like....
Has his footage been archived? I didn’t have a chance to see it today, but saw all of the commentary on the thread earlier at work.

If the 3k NAM is doing the best as you say you’ll be right in the center and I’ll be right on the edge of the center. If it stays a hurricane once it gets to us it could be a long night. I’m in Gray btwCooling cloudtops again, this time over land....hell why not...lol
Shane brought up a great point about the incoming trof, and maybe the extra upper divergence is giving him the boost to help stay stronger.

Thanks for sharing, just horrific....Mexico Beach was devastated today. Ginger Zee was sheltered at the Summerhouse condos. Her Twitter and FB page shows some horrific images from the town. There are houses in the middle of hwy 98 and popular landmarks are gone. The word is that most everything beach side of hwy 98 is either heavily damaged or destroyed. These photos are from Ginger Zee's FB page. We are heartbroken tonight for a town that is so special to us.![]()

It shows it developing those strong winds in the midlands of SC beforehand so if it verifies that will be a huge stretch of wind damage.HRRR insists on a narrow band forming tomorrow with winds 75-85mph in gusts. Other models show similar just not quite as strong. This will produce a ton of problems if it verifies.

I guess it's possible but I'm not buying 90..... that would have major impactsYeah on weather.us it’s showing 90mph over wake county.
I think we will most likely see this enhancement occur to what degree I'm not sure. Winds at 850 are likely to be in the 70kt-80kt range with 925s in the 45-65 range which makes me think that gusts of 40-45kt are a good bet. Getting above that well into the 50s and 60s I'm not sure yet. It's pretty cool though that you can see the hrrr mixing that dry air to the surface and dropping tds as it arrives around 10 degrees.HRRR still insisting on 70+ wind gust with that baroclinic enhanced wind band on the backside tomorrow night..... what you think?

I've been out of the loop for the last few hours yall. Any word on fatalities/casualties? Or on the overall scope of the damage inland? I saw something about major damage in Marianna? Obviously pretty widespread.
I saw NWS called for 2-3” across Atlanta. It sure looks like it could be more?Just lost power in Atlanta!! Wtf!!
