I'm not a huge NBA or Kobe fan but dang it, this is a horrible day! Losing a sports legend that young is tough, hearing his 13 yr old daughter too just gut wrenching.. another player (kid) and parent too! Breaks my heart. Praying for their families and friends.

Even if "Charlotte" wasn't posted as location, honestly I wouldn't think that it's Mack. Sounds like a kid honestly (and Mack ain't a kid even if he could go overzealous at times), and not to embarrass, but me before I realized that I needed to change my tone, but that was when I was younger than him if what I saw is correct. I was either 15 or 16 then.

Folks, there is a lot of good info/materials in Wiki, especially for those who are learning or have questions. Here's a screen shot of the main "index", and from there you can click and explore:

Also, there is a search bar at the top, so you can dig down from that angle with key words, as well.

If your a star wars fan rise of the resistance at Disney World is your chance to actually step into the movie. Only problem is the amount of money I've spent this trip on crappy drinks alone.... weather related this has been my most comfortable week in Disney in my 30+ trips, Legitimately cold on Wednesday morning (Wind Chills in the teens) but the pollen is absolutely out down here, still got in the pool a few times.

I'm not gonna get into videos beyond this: apparently a video that people are passing off as this crash has gone around, but it's actually one that happened in the Middle East.

Don't want to see the video but based off a picture, if it's not foggy (at least possibly) and a crash into some trees, it's not it.

Edit: there was smoke coming up though.
 
The video source I viewed only went into flames after the crash. IDK guys, google is your friend. Please don't post it here for the media to come hawk over us about.
 
Alright guys I'm not trying to be negative or be a Debbie downer(we are all human) But it's January 27 and even though we still have February and maybe some of March time is rapidly ticking... and each day a fantasy storm pops up 2 weeks and beyond with each day passing by we keep running out of chips knowing that we still yet to have a legitimate storm to track inside 3 days in just saying that I have a lot of respect for the global models and the weather but sometimes it's best to just face reality living in the South...

I've been done with this winter. I've hung it up and really expect to zero out this year in the upstate. Whatever happens happens. I'm over it. Euro 500mb looks great around the 7th but the 2m temps don't reflect it. Been the base state all winter and that's not changing now. Last year and this year have broken me. If we couldn't manage colder temps with weak and neutral enso and low solar it makes you wonder if it's even possible anymore.

I am glad that the models are spitting out fantasy storms every now and then. It at least means that snow is within the realm of possibility. That's not to say that the models have to show fantasy storms for it to snow. But seeing LR SERs for weeks on end is a whole lot worse and legitimately takes the possibility off the table.

Ignoring his error of using “worse” instead of “worst”, why are people shooting the messenger of facts about the GEFS cold bias? The GEFS this winter has been atrocious overall and it is fair to criticize it. No, I’m not warm biased. I’m “facts” biased.

Are they? It seems like pretty much everyone is on board with with the GFS/GEFS cold bias dead horse beat-down. I think people are just reacting to BAM's poor forecasting ability/wishy-washy-ness, which is getting close to another dead horse beat-down.

1. There’s nothing imo wrong with beating a dead horse when the dead horse keeps fooling so many people. Plus there’s always new people to weather and to the wx forums who need to be educated. This cold bias cannot be overemphasized imo.

2. He does sound mad, but I think he has been mostly right since he switched several weeks ago to going warmer than models and poopooing cold after earlier going for a cold winter. He’s been wishy washy at times from one day to the next when models changed drastically, but for the most part he has been on the warm train and correct. I’d prefer someone like him over someone like a very stubborn JB with cold colored glasses and who practically never mentions the cold bias of any model.
