My son will be 3 this summer. He’s growing like a weed and I’m in my feelings about it. He forms semi complete sentences and his vocabulary is better than mine. He throws legos in the air in my living room and says “It’s snowing!”..

We need snow

My soon to be 5yr old son has asked me all winter when will it snow. I agree with you we need snow especially for the kids. I can drive them up to the mountains to see it and it’s awesome. But there’s still nothing like snow in your yard. Hopefully we get a February miracle.

The good thing is, when he is a little older the odds are pretty good that we enter another snowy period. Silver lining I guess

If we can time a 6 inch mountain event you can bet your ass I’m loading him up in the Chevy and taking him for the weekend

I’ve thought about. Our small trip last year when we got on the news was perfect. Only a few inches but was fun. Also that year cashiers got 18 inches we drove up and saw that. We stayed in Maggie Valley and went to cashiers that morning on the way home. There’s been some great trips.

Has he ever seen real snow in his backyard? :p

I don’t know, our climate will be as warm as Orlando by 2100. ;)

Just kidding, haha, it shouldn’t be that extreme, and geographic factors will play a big role locally even as the world warms. But it may indeed be less snowy than today. :( Or maybe it will be snowier if a warmer climate somehow results in more perfect track Miller As, hahaha.

Bamwx is getting nervous about the early Feb cold being modeled.

I don't know who Bamwx is, but it seems that they are just regurgitating the information that's presented on this forum! Is that their product? Just describing what the current numerical modeling is showing? Their accuracy seems to be about as good as the ensembles in my opinion.

Yes! December 2018 the year we moved into our house! 2’ish inches. Chump change as far as dad is concerned. We need 6!
Nice! That’s more recently than I’ve seen snow. I missed out on three very memorable events during my time in Florida, and now this winter is off to a catastrophic start. But there’s hope on the horizon and I will keep the faith that the snow gods will deliver that cold powder unto MBY.

In other news in my world, I'm going to try to test into the practical nursing program at the main technical college in my city in mid February, which would begin in the fall this year.

Wish me luck. I've read the requirements from front and back several times. I have the pre-requisites required and I'm fairly sure about the grades too (attained all of them 4 years ago to this spring, so I would've had one more year to decide on what to do here) to where I at least should be able to just roll to the college and see if I can get a good enough score to test in. The test worries me some, since I struggle in math and some of the science concepts, I haven't seen in years, but I feel like I'm at a point where I have to go further because of what happened in the spring almost two years ago not helping me.

It's going to be an interesting first half of February for me, not just because of that. My mom is getting out the expander early in the month since the doctor failed and punctured it (there's more to this that I might talk about later), then about a week ago I was told I have 10 cavities (which we're not really sure about because of my history, and after I thought about it, I'm not going back to that office, period) and that's going to be investigated at the dental college in that month too.

If I can pass my initial Paramedic exam in 1991 & every four years thereafter (recertified in November for the 7th time and haven’t been in an ambulance for 7 years) without studying, you can become an LPN.

Wait until teenage years. I have three daughters aged 17, 16 (in two weeks), and 14. The oldest’s car’s tranny crapped the bed so she’s been driving my 4X4 truck to school and work (headed to a salvage yard in Knightdale next Friday to get a transmission for her). The middle one wants a truck and is getting her license. The youngest starts drivers education this coming fall. FML
