Auburn seems to have the better programs though. They are a land grant school so they have all the important agriculture degrees. They also seem to have better STEM programs. Alabama is kinda like Carolina, basket weaving school
 
Not the biggest fan of the JB bashing. He's been historically pretty good as a whole (career wise) before technology got to where it has weather modeling wise.

You can't like, forecast an entire country, accurately for a season, imo.

Plus he was nice enough to give us a great video interview many years back when this site had like 20 members.
 
So, after looking over the long-range ensembles for early February, tell me more about March 1960. Any ULL forming near Tibet that might head this way? And, how's the seismic activity under Yellowstone?
 
So the models maybe making things look better in the extended range?

Why do we believe that? Is it because it's showing chances of Winter weather?

I'm feeling really depressed about the weather going forward. I agree with Webb; feels like this past week was our chance and we missed it and we may not get another real shot. Now we get warm and muggy and it won't even feel like winter. Sigh ...

Hard to get a better looking pattern than what we just had. I'm sure we'll get another opportunity or two in Feb, but you don't get many looks like that.

Apparently that look isn’t hard to get anymore West of the Apps because they have had that similar look the past 3 outta 4 years. It would seem like the only way we can score these days is off CAD events. Even with the pattern showing up in advance, we failed to get one fantasy run leading up to it.
 
It’s too bad the cold may be coming back a little too late to benefit most of us. I foresee a lot of chilly, rainy days in mid to late February.
