Misc Winter 22-23 Whamby and Banter Thread Part 2

Latest NAM has no moisture when the cold pool moves over. Imagine that. There is a reason our averages are so low. It's hard to snow here and if it can go wrong it will.

Dallas went through I think 5 years of no snow back in the mid 2010s. I venture to say they probably only do well consistently in Nina's.
And Atlanta has had no snow the last 5 years. Atlanta may go 10 years or more without snow the way things are going.

12z NAM and 12z HRRR had a similar outcome (at the surface). Shots fired. Most of all the short range models are disappointing if you were trying to be cautiously optimistic. Only positive is the RAP still looked decent. The global models (GFS, EURO, UK,etc) will probably go in the opposite direction just to create more chaos and frustration. Kinda glad I wasn’t invested in this, however I hope those who still has a good chance at some measurable snowfall gets it good.

RIP winter 2022-2023

if the long range dweebs* are to be believed we'll have one more shot for glory in early march

*i say dweebs endearingly, they are all much smarter than me

Not just the first 5 years I was there from 2015 to 2020 but apparently most of the 90s was a nightmare too. There was no 93 there...

Also since I've moved to Tulsa they've had like a dusting. Last week was not snow

Just terrible. The GFS has proven once again its trash caving at the last min. I said yesterday those 3 inch ensemble means meant nothing. Can't understand the hype about ensembles when it comes to storms. Even the EPS. Back to chasing patterns and hoping for a miracle because this ---- is over for the upstate.

Just seeing everything this morning and.... OUCH! I mean we knew we were in "iffy" territory but terrible changes for most.

At least we have company; here it is still early Feb and this is our national map:

2 counties in the entire county have winter weather alerts; 2!

Well at least I won't miss the snow. Was dreading the drive back to Wilmington knowing I'd be missing a possible thump..now I rest easy...joy
Oconee is one of the better spots, in the upstate anyway. Pickens and Oconee should get a good hit. Now whether it accumulates or not who knows

I started to get optimistic only when the EPS jumped south and started getting closer to the GEFS track. When it just completely backed off I knew it was over.

I do think still an EPS, Ukmet combo under 5 days is solid.

Just got to find a cold pattern somehow, someway. Can somebody please fix the Pacific? ? seriously, if not this year next year?
