Severe Two-Part Severe Weather Threat 1/19 & 1/21 - 1/22

Looks like that cell near Auburn might get choked off soon. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a tornado report with it from earlier

Probably going to be a lot of wind damage reports with that cell headed toward Columbus. 30-45 MPH winds at 2000 ft should be transferred downward easily

Interested to see how this plays out toward my area. Slight clearing right now

Yikes.

I know that the recovery of the atmosphere is in question right now... But per spc mesoanalysis this shows rapid destabilization over parts of south Mississippi in the next few hours. How that translates east of here is still in question, still something to watch in the coming hours.

Glad you guys were safe. Have family around the Houston Co. area. Got friends and family all through central Ga. Going to be a VERY rough day (and this is only the start through the weekend). Thanks for sharing the FB video! BTW, are you close to a Tornado siren?

That was scary. I heard the roar, but it was extremely rain wrapped.

Some of these super cells were on the NAM for days. Very scary stuff if some of the others start showing their faces in reality.

Yes they went blasting. Your welcome

Folks in the Charlotte area need to watch -------------'s video he put out about an hour ago. He goes into detail on it about both Carolinas for tonight and Sunday.

Yeah Chris. It gets worse into SC and really crazy looking in later frames. Not a fan.

Severe is not my forte (winter and 'Canes are my focus) - so pardon a "See Spot run" question -
NWS down here is talking up a bad round late tonight into tomorrow afternoon, but from radar it all looks like Central to S GA is the line of demarcation. Where would a N FL squall line come from (looks tame in the Gulf)? What am I missing or is the whole batch of bad energy trending more northerly than originally progged?

Okay, sorry for asking imby but how much should I worry about these storms living in the Charlotte area?

Not these today I would be more concerned about the CLT area tomorrow. I think the threat is higher east of charlotte

This is turning out to potentially be a bigger event here in SC than I had originally thought. For my CAE friends, this first wave wasn't supposed to do much here.

Sitting here just north of of I20 in St. Clair County, AL, 25 ft up a white oak overlooking a cutover and greenfield, it couldnt be much more peaceful. Looking to the SW with the wind in my face and sun on my chest, its perfect. All of that said, the air has that feel, and knowing we are sitting at the end of Jan. with this kind of atmosphere, I dont think it bodes well for us. Long night ahead.

Yeah local guys didn't really expect much originally. I'm getting increasingly concerned about tonight and tomorrow.

No thanks. This is over my back yard in Lexington with cells rolling through. Nope. not having it.
