Euro actually has some soundings supportive of severe wx on Thursday 
Man I don’t know if I like the trends here we could turn this into a humid roast with very isolated storms, although cape would probably be high and globals do like to be to isolated with storms, but euro has backed away from the more disturbed flow it had in previous runs 
Persistence can become a real thing 
As long as the ridge keeps its axis over the NE and we keep the weakness over us I've got no problem with this pattern. If we lose that weak upper level energy it'll be ugly
That pattern is ripe to trap something with the rapid build and the jet disappearing

I like that little piece of energy around Texas .. will at least keep the possibility open for storms
We need that over AL/GA, otherwise we get a look more similar to what we just got that gave us those 90s and rain to our west

You can already see the pacific ridge retrograding on the icon. Another short term bout of heat followed by a backdoor front and potential wedge in mid June

This is turning into Melbourne Australia but worse , see they hit 110 then the next day have a high of 60. We hit 90 and then get 5 days of 60s and a frost. I propose dumping freshwater in the Labrador current and shutting it down so that crappy cold water from Greenland stops fueling these nasty back door fronts .
I'm not sold on the wedge idea honestly. You can see how we could get there as the western ridge/trough couplet retrogrades the ridge over us should too which would open the door to slide something into the NE and send backdoor front onto our area. The more likely solution may be a beating down and flattening of the ridge

By the time the gfs clears out the ridge we are getting a wave break over the lakes

I expect areas further south to be put in a threat by the SPC, the stronger LLJ should remain to our north but given the higher thermodynamics/more insolation and still present shear, there might be a legit wind/isolated tornado threat

The summer of 1993 was very hot and fairly dry to start east of the Apps. I remember CLT had a few days of 100 degree heat late June and early July. While that was happening the central part of the country was getting drenched and a huge flood was occurring all along the Mississippi River. As the summer went on it did start to get wetter over the southeast.
