I've seen enough to know now, definitively, that the NHC is corrupt to the core. Maggots the lot of them. Liars and scammers. They can go the way of the FDA and sink in to the abyss.

Helene will be a moderate Category 1 hurricane or weak Cat 2 at landfall.

I believe this is a case where it may take one to know one.

I think we dodged a bullet here. Last night they were saying 105 mph wind gusts and now they’re saying 70 mph. I doubt we’ll get anything more than 50 mph. I’m not even worried anymore.

Glad I don’t live in Tallahassee anymore. I remember when I moved there in 2016, they hadn’t had a direct hit from a hurricane in over three decades. Then literally months later they had Hermine, then Michael (not a direct hit but still) while I was still there, and now this.

Yeah I think Tallahassee would be the worst place you could think of to be stuck after a hurricane without power.
