Yeah, has been dry around here too. CHA is only at 0.09" for the month, with around 0.25" forecasted the next 7 days - that'll land us top 5 driest September on record going back to 1879.

Looks like we have to wait until the back half of October if we are lucky. I think we switch things up late Oct into November which is close to normal. November looks to be active so severe weather will be the first issue we face.

The first frost date in Raleigh, N.C. is on average between October 19th and October 26. The first freeze date is around October 31st.

51 would be a significant front here ? gonna be lucky if we see 50s anytime soon and our average low is already 61.

If you draw something up the 80/54 in early October everyday for the first week with no rain, you’re probably gonna be right. Absolutely stale pattern

Upper air pattern is looking rather summer like to start October, May regret saying 90s is done, especially when the ridge mixes out any sort of cooler 850s. Looking like some low-mid and even upper 80s May return

Looks like a later start to fall this year, but it looks like that's the norm now unfortunately. Like jb would say, "delayed but not denied."
I feel like its been a rather normal, pleasant September to this point.
Yes it's been very normal. Last year September was normal too. We got our first cold front around the middle of September last year.

I mean we haven’t even had a fantasy run showing a cold intrusion that punts in the next run. Not even a whiff of a pattern change. Here in Chicago, I’ll take that as long as I can.

Which is the case in all El Nino's most of the time. But I consider the first cold front to knock us back in the low '80s upper 70s not 40s.

Fine with me. I'm tired of cutting grass and the water table is just fine.
Looks like many of us will experience "San Diego" weather for the next 5-7 days. Lots of clouds/no rain, cool highs, coolish (not cold) lows, and a higher humidity that's just in the comfortable range. Folks that have been to San Diego will understand.

Yep. About every other year I would go out to San Diego in June for a conference. Seemed like it was always cloudy and coolish. But no rain. Like our current weather..
