Promo with walking billboard and 3 chicks and Tony Schievone with the sweet beard. Meh

Match with man with fire pants and Japanese entrance music vs a backstreet boy. And now a cool commercial break with pip so you won't miss a minute of the action, folks!!!!!1!1! I hope they show a Dr. Rick commercial. Subway still sux. And whats with the Starbucks mermaid? So weird. Well we're back. Unfortunately the match didn't end during commercial break. Glad we didn't miss a minute.

Fire pants seems to think taking the knee pad down will hurt the opponent more. Hmmmm. Oh the famous painful knee into the canvas, missing the opponent.

Backstreet boy with a top rope flyover into Hobbs with help from Calvin.

Sloppy cover with Japanese music for the victory.

Tazz still sucks

Boring white guy from the balcony talking. Unentertaining

When did Daniel Bryan change to Bryan Danielson?

Going to take a break and boil some eggs. Will be back shortly to chronicle this historic night.

Some people come to the ring with Steveweisers and some people come the ring with a scarf.

Good trashing the host city. Classic heel move.

They seem to be able to use more profanity now than back in the old days.

Ok what did I miss? Wife wanted to make out. Which would never have happened during Monday Night Wars.

There sure are a lot of belts in AEW. This one Elite member is really tan.

Wow!!! Adam Cole!!1 Are you serious right now?!! Who's next, Bob Clark? John Miller? Tom Smith? Lol

MJF is the best promo guy going today. He was savage on the mic tonight.

Daniel Bryant interrupting the Elite. Business is about to pick up! Yes yes!

Oh baby, a challenge in this very ring!

Uh oh. White tee-shirt contest. And now all hell is breaking loose!!

Where are Sting and Jericho?

A slobberknocker set for one fall or TV time remaining. Suzuki vs Mox in Socksley!

Guessing there will be some sort of interference and Moxie wins by DQ.

6 minutes left. Flexible ref back in charge.

Face biting. Interesting hold.

Ok extremely fake double head butt. That was terrible, guys.

Bleeding is good.

And a 3 count for Mollie! What a win.

Well I have to say, if this is what we consider just awesome now, we have really set the bar low. I mean, WWE may be a lot worse so we'll grade it on a curve I guess. I'll watch that and grade it in the next week or two. Geez

You need to watch the PPV they just had. One of the best in a long time and maybe one if the best ever.

If the free stuff isn't entertaining, I'm not going to pay for a ppv. Maybe Dynamite will be better.

I wouldn't say last night's show was awesome compared to other shows they have had, but it is still entertaining. Their last PPV really was one of the best of all time. They probably needed a breather after that one. AEW also focuses more on actual wrestling and good promos instead of corny skits like WWE does now.

I was a little disappointed in Dynamite last night to be honest. It felt like they tried to cram as many angles into the 2 hours as they could and didn't really move that much forward. I love Mox and I know it was a hometown show for him but that wasn't really what I wanted to end the show.

They have done a great job at making the Elite incredibly hateable and I'm here for it.

I think they are going to trim their roster soon if they keep getting more talent that are already bigger names. The promo MJF did last night was savage, and I get them having Pillman Jr on the show since they were in Cinci. But I think they are going to have to start using guys like Pilman and Garrison, The Factory, Nightmare Family, Team Taz, The Hardy Office, The Acclaimed, and even Dark Order just for matches and not any actual feuds and storylines that take up more time on the show. I think they are setting up Dark Order for Bray Wyatt to come in and be the leader, though.

I think they need to focus on Omega, Young Bucks, Cole, Jericho, Ortiz and Santana, Guavaro, MJF, FTR, Spears, Punk, Daneilson, Christian, Moxley, Miro, Lucha Bros, Allin, Adam Page, Black, Pac, Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, Cassiday, Andrede, Cage, Kingston, Ethan Page, Sky, and Archer for the men. That gives you a solid roster of 32 guys for singles and tag teams. I didn't mention Cody because I don't think he's really going to wrestle much anymore.

I think the focus for the women should be Baker, Bunny, Anna Jay, Cargill, Hayter, Statlander, Rose, Ford, Soho, Conti, and Rosa.

A breather? Some of the best shows were always after PPVs. You remember some of those video packages the WWF used to put together before Raw and/or after a PPV? Second to none. You need the big show after the PPV to set up the next interval. It ought ot be huge.

I guess the one match between the Hobbs guy and the backstreet boy was pretty good, in terms of actual wrestling. Their main event though was absolutely terrible, both from an entertainment standpoint and a wrestling standpoint.

I'll watch it again, but it really was kind of arduous to watch last night. Given the dirth of actual good wrestling shows out there today, it probably is actually one of the best products on the market, if not the best. But that's not saying a whole lot.

It takes 3 things to make great wrestling: Great talent, great storytelling, and great character development. You are always going to have a mix of good and not so good in-ring athletes. But developing and using the talent you have to maximize their abilities is where you get the bang for the buck, as far as the actual wrestling goes.

Almost every one of the characters they rolled out there last night was boring. The crowd popped a few times but nothing really to write home about.

When you look back to the best days in wrestling, you had this:

Ric Flair
Hulk Hogan
Bret Hart
Shawn Michaels
Undertaker
Mick Foley
Chris Jericho
Sting
Triple H
Vince McMahon
Goldberg
Stone Cold
Macho Man
The Rock
DDP
Roddy Piper

There are plenty more, but these were larger than life icons in the wrestling world.

Even the under-carders like Too Cool, New Age Outlaws, Owen Hart, APA, Rakishi, Godfather, Edge, etc. were super entertaining.

Compare that to modern stars like AJ Cole, John Smith, Bob Miller, Tom Wilson, Bill Thomas, Ted Johnson, lol come on.

I'm not saying that the actual wrestling isn't great, because it probably is. But it's called sports entertainment for a reason. And so far, I haven't seen any modern products that are all that entertaining.

No, WWE calls it sports entertainment. They are the only ones that call it that. There is a real difference between what they do and what professional wrestling is. AEW is more like the old days of WCW and ECW. They do have good storylines, good feuds, guys who can do great promos, and actual great wrestling matches. That's a reason why talent is leaving WWE for AEW, too.

I mean, if you want to watch Goldberg wrestle for the title again out of the blue with no reason or build up at all, see Cena come in for one match and then leave again, have Lesner come in for a little while and leave again, and watch Jeff Hardy chase around the 24/7 title in corny skits, I guess WWE is more your speed.

Who said modern WWE is the best? Let's follow the bouncy ball a little bit better. Come on now.

Who said modern WWE is the best?

They have been that way for years, though. Maybe AEW isn't as good as the days of the NWO in WCW and Stone COld and The Rock in WWE. But it is as good as the old ECW days and WCW in the 80s. It really is the most exciting thing going today for old school fans of wrestling. This is as excited as I have been about wrestling since the late 90s early 2000s when you had the Monday night wars with WCW and WWE.

Now this right here is how you cut a heel promo and follow up a ppv.

Look at the way the crowd just eats it up. Both of those guys were experts at pace, inflection, cadence, and just being able to work the crowd.

WWE wanted to make Adam Cole a manager for Keith Lee. No wonder he left.

Reminder, the best years of Wrestling (as in entertaining TV) were during the Monday Night Wars between WWE vs WCW. The competition that AEW can give WWE is what we have to wait for. If WWE choose to stay PG, they will continue lose big #s to AEW in the long run tv wise, if they go "head-to-head" in the future.

WWE is firing stars, AEW are making new stars from nothing.. and boosting them with legendary faces. Give me a young Darby Allin who will continue to grow for years to come versus an Edge coming back from surgery or a Brock who wrestles 2 times a year any day.

I agree. I like the Brock and Reigns feud, but it's just like the Cena and Reigns feud. Brock shows up for a little while and will leave again like Cena did. And that one feud is the only thing that interests me in WWE now, but with AEW I enjoy watching the whole show. I do think AEW is going to have to trim the TV time on Rampage and Dynamite for some talent if they keep getting bigger names, though. They can still use them for matches, but the bigger stars are going to need more TV time to build storylines, feuds, and for promos. I don't see any reason to have QT and The Factory on Dynamite or Rampage in actual storylines. I get why they had Pillman feud with MJF last week since they were in Pillman's hometown, but I don't think he really has what it takes to be part of a major storyline and feud. Talent like that is fine on Dark and to wrestle matches on TV every now and then, but they are going to have to give more time to the bigger name talent now.

Big E cashed in his money in the bank contract and won the WWE championship Monday night. I guess that's good.

Also, it's Wednesday night, and you know what that means! AEW Dynamite!

Just had a thought. It would be cool to see Flair come to AEW in a manager type role with Pinnacle to get revenge on Sting.

Wow, next week's show in NYC is basically PPV show on free TV. Bryan Danielson vs Kenny Omega!
