Trump and Pelosi were both low imo. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

My point is simply that you called Trump some names for his behavior (uncalled for imo and what you say you don't like about him) but when it comes to Pelosi's actions you said very little. It just seems a bit inconsistent to criticize someone for being divisive and calling others names, then to call that person a name, and then to say very little about the person (Pelosi) who broke multiple traditions and is being slammed even by the mainstream news media for her actions. JMO.

Like we effing had a choice???? Hilary or Trump? Obama or McCain? Obama or, who was that Mormon guy again? Bush or Gore? Nobody worth a damn since Reagan.

You do have a choice, you always have a choice.....this lesser of two evil crap is exactly why we are where we are today.....

It is because Trump has been a jackass for 3 years and he never stops! And he’s THE leader of the country, not Pelosi. I’ll never forgive him for how he talked about McCain or that reporter with the medical condition, among other things. He’s a lowlife classless human being.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just don't think it's right to denigrate any of our political leaders with insulting names no matter how much we despise them or their actions.

I would completely agree if the most powerful man in the world acted this way. Unfortunately he is the biggest name caller and disrespectful person in government

I can't understand how Trump or his supporters can be offended by any action or words by another politician. He has set the standard that there is nothing to apologise for or be accountable for.

Contested convention in Milwaukee and Hilary is the nominee!

Me and some family members have been saying this past week or 2. Has her hand in to many cookie jars, from Iowa ties to the app company, Unanmious super delegate elected to their convention this year are her old supporters. Attacks on Gabby, and bunch of other drive by comments social media etc.

This is coming from someone who doesn’t associate themselves with any party, that is when I’m interested in what’s going on in the political world I make sure to Gather information from all sources fox, msnbc, cnn, various other sources who all have different perspectives & come up with my own conclusions based on all that. With that being said, from what I’ve seen & heard I just don’t understand how people still view trump as the “good guy”. I mean, reading his Twitter is a good start to how obviously flawed he is as the leader of our country. I think the reason people still support him to the magnitude they do lies in the ignorance of other perspectives. People tend to just follow one parties Narrative. I say to anyone, get out political box & look at things for yourself. I’m glad I never really paid attention to politics when I was younger when I would have been heavily influenced by my parents <insert party name here> strong beliefs. It’s allowed me to think for myself. I think reality is that each party holds a piece in the puzzle of truth.

As individuals we each have the opportunity to either stoop to the level of name calling/insults or to hold ourselves to a higher standard. The actions of someone else do not give us the right to resort to the same level of personal attacks. It's perfectly fair game to call out our political leaders for their actions, words, etc. and hold them accountable. At the same time my view is that we as individuals must maintain the a level of civility towards those we disagree with, no matter how they act or what they say. This is a big part of the issue with the partisan divide in our country. People hate one side so much they can't respond in a civil way to someone on the other side with opposing views and resort to name calling, insults, etc rather than engaging in constructive discussion and criticism.

Rather than engaging in a constructive debate or criticism about an issue people instead resort to calling other people or political leaders various names, ironically the thing they say they hate, which breeds further anger and division among fellow Americans.

To everyone who has issue with Trump comments to this person, that person, etc. Good for you guys. Dont vote for him and find, stand up for your candidate of choice. Trump is fine receving the criticisms you guys, main stream media etc hurl his way. No problem, your entitled to your opinion.
However your never ending crying about him giving it back tick for tack holds no water or persuassion just so you know. If he rolls over and plays presidential, high road etc. There is no one outside Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin who will defend him besides that twitter account. I dont have a twitter, dont care for it. But thank God he has a venue to get his point messages out. Leverage against decades old biased liberal main stream media.
That is what gnarls the swamp, espeacilly media. Theyve lost their leverage against the conservative movement, outside Acedemia arena.

As far as John McCain. I appreciate his service to our country. But as far as a politician he was a cancer to the conservative movement, always grand standing against Bush and Trump. Trump has an ego the size of the grand canyon. But McCain goverened with as big a ego as anyone I've ever known. No fan of the Mccain,Kasich,Romneys of the world. Rhinos. Always saying conservative things, promises during election. Then never acting on them post election. More concerned with being a media darling, liked.
Main reason people suport and stand behind Trump is simple. Results. He does exactly what he promises and campaigns off of. Very simple. Solutions , then Results. Forward Thinking . Not letting others define him.

I don't think people support Trump because they think he is a "high character" guy. People support him because of his policy decisions or views which align with their own. People like myself who view the Supreme Court and judicial nominees as critical to the constitutional freedoms we have. People who want lower taxes and a strong economy and consider his policy one that will bring economic benefit. People who want someone to protect the sovereignty of our country by protecting our borders and rooting out illegal aliens who are guilty of crime. These are the types of reasons that most people I know, including myself, supported Trump in 2016 and will do so again in 2020.

So here's a question, I haven't watched a State of the Union address until the past 2 years. Do former presidents like Obama, Bush, etc also have personal stories and people he talks about in the audience like Trump did or is that something specific that Trump does? I thought it was really heartwarming for him to honor the wife and 2 kids like he did and then have her husband back from deployment there to surprise them. I also enjoyed how he honored the Tuskegee airman and the little girl with the scholarship.
Obama and Bush had personal stories also. Trump just mastered the "show" aspect a little better.

I just want people to be consistent, if they're going to rip Trump and call him names (which IMO isn't right no matter how much you don't like a specific leader) it's only fair to respond to Pelosi the same way. Trump didn't shake her hand but she could have been the "adult" by staying neutral when he spoke and not ripping up his speech. Her actions were IMO worse, not because I like Trump but because of the duration and how visible her actions were. I didn't even notice live that he didn't shake her hand but did see that upon watching replays afterwards. However what I did notice and any American watching were the constant reactions by Pelosi in the background to various statements he made. Whether you agree with them or not, as speaker of the House the longstanding tradition is to appear neutral no matter what is said by the president. She broke that decorum and then ripped up the speech, taking things to another level. Even the CBS News anchors were absolutely shocked when she did that.

Looked like Pelosi was talking to somebody at times during his speech...Pence maybe??? Or has she just totally lost it??? I'm banking on the latter

This post is right on the money......the best policies Congress passes are the ones that require both sides to compromise thus usually filtering out a lot of the fringe crap from both ends of the political spectrum and its the right and intended way for our government to operate. The Founders never intended one party to have total control and force their agenda on the nation....this is what generates the mentality we see today of obstructionist politics were both sides are constantly trying to block the other party from advancing their agenda and refusing to work together. This is what happens when you let the Trumps and Pelosi's of the country have power....ultimately though we the people are to blame for no one goes to DC unless we send them there....

Don't kid yourself...Hillary still has her hand deeply entrenched in the Democratic Party...I wouldn't put anything past her

Trump is a bully? Sure. He talks down to other politicians? Sure. He calls people names? Sure.....I keep hearing from a lot of people who support him "blindly" why we don't stand up to him. Stand up to him how? By calling him out on a weather board?....lol. By not voting for him? Sorry but he is getting my vote in full confidence. When I voted for him I hired him to clean up the things "I" was concerned about on a national level. I was tired of seeing the GOP allow the left to steamroll them. I wanted a SOB in the White House and I got it. Millions of others feel the same way and if your feelings are hurt that's just life Francis. In my mind I got a 3rd party candidate. A shrewd businessman called Donald J Trump. Don't care about handshakes, paper being torn up or nimrods sitting on their hands. Its the State of the Union and the Union is doing great. Perhaps what we need from here is to have a state of the states IN THE UNION. This will give some of those sitting on their hands last night an opportunity to explain why taxes are high back home, people are living under bridges with needles in their arms and why they are on the nightly news across the nation for the wrong reasons.....Just a thought

Spot on!!! I didn't vote for him to be his "Friend"...I voted for somebody who was going to turn this country around...It had become a cesspool...Guess what??? He did...He has undone many of these tariffs that the previous administrations had so woefully screwed up!!! Throwing away the taxpayers money....Not anymore...AMERICA FIRST....We have a man in office who is a businessman who knows the value of a dollar bill...As for having to like everything he does...Nope, don't have to....But I damn sure like the direction we are headed now, and I don't think I'm the only one!!!

I think this was a calculated move by Pelosi, look what is dominating the news this morning, its all about her and Trump's feud and pretty much ignoring everything else.....its also sad that grown ass adults act the way these politicians do. I pretty much despise all these people but I hate seeing their petty squabbling old asses ruining the tradition and respect their offices hold and frankly demand.....I expect them all to behave like adults and proud members of the US government and to afford their positions and titles the respect they deserve not because they hold those seats but because of everyone that came before them and will come after.....the sanctity of those offices in these circumstances should prevail over party politics......but then again who am I kidding with the "party before country" mentality we have now sadly I am not surprised that these folks act like this.

These adults that squabble? That can't get along to solve problems? They are voted in by people who seem to have the same problems communicating out here in the real world and they continue to be voted in over and over and over again. These dingbats were arguing with each other long before Trump was elected. I agree with you that its sad to watch but judging by past elections this seems to be what the people in their districts want. I would LOVE to see our country come before party. Things like low unemployment, pay raises, better trade deals for OUR COUNTRY and protecting OUR COUNTRY are a great start.

He purposefully did that with mainly black and Hispanic people for photo ops and to trap the other side by essentially saying “see, I love black and Hispanic people, too, so don’t criticize me.” All a TV show.

Hang on a second here. Im calling you out on this one. SOTU was straight up listing facts on our economy, where it stands as of today compared to when he took office.

To the point you just stated.
Trump also highlighted leigislation where he introduced an African American Male who has benefitted off a second chance, getting off drugs and finding employement thanks to a innner city program that has been implemented/ funded by his administration.

He also pointed out a single African American Mom in Philadelphia with a 4th grader who was stuck in a failing inner city Government school. Thanks to Pennsylvania, passing a state law making school choice a non option, kid was stuck. Trump Admin started up a 1 million student school choice scholarship program to target kids trapped in failing govt schools. Mostly inner city. This kid now can get out. He anounced she is the first receipent as of last night.

3rd African Anerican was the last survivor of the Tuskegee Airman who fought in world war , first african american pilot US History. Just turned 100, and was awarded by Trump Brigadier General. Trump Recognized his outstanding 13 year okd great grandson and his achievements in aerospace classes at only 13 years old. Calling on Congress to start back up the" Space Force " citing this 13 year olds dream to serve his country in a new frontier way.

The Hispanic was a High ranking Border Security Guard his administration promoted.Trump was highlighting the brave job they are doing and listed just over the pass 7 months how many Drugs they had confiscated coming across the border in Texas.

Trump also spoke of another African American who is one of many Hes gotten pardoned from life long prison senteces they where serving for non violent crimes. Second Chance.

He also highlighted having to step in and secure funds for HBC that many where on the brink of closing down.

Funny how all those Demcrats stayed glued to their seats and 0 applause on each case I just brought up. Trump delivered, wasnt up there promising, but delivered on issues Democrats claim they care about but never have resolved. Democrats staunchly oppose any funding of education dollars to school choice because this is how they indoctrinate the masses. Prime example is all the Young socialist in the democrat party. Everyone wonders why we see so much crude, rude behavior in society today, what do you expect teaching everyone they evolved from a monkey? Why be so suprised when folks act like one. Education stopped being about the 3Rs throughout the late 70's as the liberals hijacked it, while we sat back and shrugged off. Little by little they dribbled in this and that while be became desensitized . Now we have to explain to our early elementary kids the LGBT agenda. Its ashame whats taking place. Christmas break is now called Holliday break, volunteer prayer has no place on any public school location. Just a few examples.

So Gawx, yes it was good theatre last night. But it hammered home RESULTS. Thats the difference.

UNEMPLOYMENT AMONG AFRICAN AMERICAN AND HISPANICS IS AT THE LOWEST IN NATIONS HISTORY. That is a FACT, not heresay.

I could sit here an type a long list of factual data showing nothing but Great accomplishments under this current administartion. In spite of made up fabricated, coupe's attempted by your side, its amazing how Trump has delivered on everything he said he would.

None of that matters because Trump is a mean old poopy face......LOL. Good post!

Never said he would be a Dem but Dems would vote for him

Dems, will vote for Trump to. How do you think he won PA,Michigan. It was Blue Colar Union guys who where left behind. West Virginia Coal Miners who where rejected, demonized by DNC, Obama,Hillary after decades of support.

Today Democrat Senators will vote to acquit. Just like a few house members voted against impeachment articles

On top of all this the Iowa Caucus is still not done... what a week in politics. A week I think republicans will come out way on top as far as public opinion.

Pelosi and the Iowa caucus is doing nothing but driving the centrist Dems further toward the right. Losing more and more votes. I thought a few weeks ago that Trumps craziness would push centrist republicans toward the left but this week has probably completely reversed that.

@snowlover91 and @metwannabe Pelosi looked bad, too, in tearing up the speech. I’m not defending that. And yes he didn’t shake Pence’s hand, either. But I still think it was a snub. It is a tradition to shake both their hands as I recall. Not shaking Pelosi’s hand was a plan to rile up his base by being a bully.

Edit: Unfortunately, @snowlover91 you’re too young to have experienced Reagan in real time. Even seeing him on numerous videotape clips is not the same thing.

I know both well and was around. Trump has one quality Reagen had and probably better. That Quality is he does what he says hes gonna do. RESULTS. You guys can argue to the cows come home being cordial ,nice, etc. Bottom line is for the 1st time in several decades a POTUS actually is doing and accomplishing exactly what he campaigned ,promised on. Reason he will be the next POTUS for 4 more years. Its easy to make promises, anyone can. But its those who deliver on them that set them apart from pretenders or wanna be's

Yes. It’s a propaganda technique. They all use a general template.

Well this explains it....

I don't think Reagan would be a republican today. He is to close to the center to have a party to run in today's politics. I think most Dems and republican would welcome Reagan with open arms over Trump given the choice. Of course most Dems voted for Reagan back then and probably would now if he was a option
My grandpa was a blue dog Democrat. However, fiscally conservative centrist democrats don’t exist anymore.

So her behavior is justified because Trump is a bad man therefore that gives her the right to act like a child and insult all of the people Trump honored in his speech?

Some of the people he honored have come out today and said they were highly offended and felt like her actions of ripping up the speech were a direct attack on them and their families. Jody Jones said "It felt like she ripped our hearts out, everybody there. I don't care how you feel about somebody," he continued. "That was probably the most disrespectful thing I have ever seen in my life. Because, when she did that, it just tore us up. We couldn't believe it."

You know I totally agree Trump is no Reagan and Reagan is my all time favorite POTUS, no questions. But to keep comparing those times with today's Democratic Party is apples to oranges imho.... we have no way of knowing, but I'd be curious as to how well Reagan would be received today by this radical left democratic party. My guess is not very well at all

Reagan was not of sound mind by the time he left office. Look at his inability to recall arms to Iran to finance the Contra’s. Let’s not forget that Governor Bill Clinton was in the thick of that garbage as well. Mena, Arkansas anyone? The ROE’s that the DoD implemented under Reagan which called for the Marines in Beirut to walk around without their weapons armed. I am too young to really remember the economic policies under Reagan (I turn 50 next Tuesday) but I do remember Iran/Contra and the Beirut Marine barracks bombing. I remember the military stuff more so because I was born on a military base in a military hospital and my pop served until I graduated high school and enlisted myself.

I agree with the bold for sure. Trump should have definitely shook the hand of Pelosi last night, he could be seen as the instigator, but Pelosi could have taken the "high ground" and acted properly as well. Had she done so the focus would likely be on the content of Trump's speech and his refusal to shake her hand. Instead she threw her role as a neutral party and speaker of the House out the window for all of America to see all while throwing a tantrum like a 2 year old.

Today's Democratic party would not accept Reagan unless he changed his position on abortion. I mean a Pro-life Democrat ask Mayor Pete the other night if there was a place in the Dem Party for her and others like her and he basically told her, no. Reagan was also a strong defender of the Christian Faith, which doesn't seem to sit well with this party either.

Not to mention they wouldn't accept his Peace through Strength strategy either, no way he'd be a member of this Democratic Party. Remember he left that party because of the direction it was headed. Remember he often said, "I didn't leave the Democratic Party. The party left me."

Remember this... prior to GWB, President Clinton used the US Military more than any President since Nixon and President Obama increased drone strikes and expanded The Patriot Act (which was implemented by Bush II).
