Now that I'm thinking about it, ID apparently isn't showing Body Cam and I haven't seen the commercials to it lately (which is supposed to be a more intense COPS, and at times I've found it is when I've had it on), and I was even thinking about watching it tonight when I figured out it wasn't on.

Okay, the PC over this is getting crazy. Old Looney Tunes was and arguably still is my #1 cartoon wise, and Elmer Fudd/Yosemite Sam having guns didn't wreck me at all. I also was watching COPS when I was like 6. People...

It's not about being politically correct, why would anyone enjoy watching cops arrest people? I guess the same reason they watched Jerry Springer

It's actually pretty popular. Body Cam has been a hit series and Investigation Discovery is pretty well liked. It's not just police action though but people will watch things based off true crime.

I enjoy watching the very difficult job cops have and also admire their courage since they’re often in dangerous situations. So, it helps me better appreciate that there are folks out there willing to take on this very difficult job. It is about much more than watching cops arrest folks.

It also educates me about what happens on the streets every day in poorer areas, helping me to better appreciate that I’m fortunate not to be in a similar situation.

I never thought of it that way, just felt sorry for the people being arrested. To the each his own

As a kid, I never wanted to be in the shoes of those guys running from the police. When I watch the old Cops reruns now, I get a nostalgic feeling seeing the cops with the old pornstar mustaches and seeing the old cars and cities as they were in the early 90’s. It really is/was a great show

You felt sorry for all of the folks being arrested? What about what caused them to be arrested in the first place? And what about when there are victims as a result of what these arrested folks did to get arrested? Do you feel as sorry for the victims as you do for those arrested?

By the way, arrests on Live PD are not that common as the vast majority aren’t arrested.

I agree with the Live PD comment. I’m actually surprised by how much they let them off with.

Live PD is in a different boat than COPS:

1. It is live normally. So, they can’t pre-pick/edit what to show based on outcomes.

2. Live PD is only 4 years old with great ratings vs COPS being 33 years old with so-so ratings.

So, COPS being canceled doesn’t tell me Live PD will likely be canceled. Hopefully the PC police won’t take the real live police off the air.

Absolutely. I’ve said in the past that folks would better appreciate that there are many good cops out there and that they often do whatever they can to avoid arresting as well as using force against subjects. Watching Live PD tells me this.

Do you remember the cop from Jeffersonville, IN that was on there in previous years? Denver Leverette, he was a human lie detector. He was good at what he done!

Yep. That reminds me that they do often lead subjects on to try to get them to avoid lying and to instead admit things to avoid getting arrested!

What we’ve been getting on the MSM these last 2 weeks is an absurd one sided negative view of cops in general. Shame on them! Way overdone for ratings and left leaning politics.

I didn't watch much but I did feel sorry for most of those people because they may have broken the law but they were still people. The few times I watched it was mostly poor people and or drug addicts getting arrested. I just feel empathy for those less fortunate weather they are born that way or do it to themselves.

The real answer to that is that the 19 is because the virus was discovered in 2019......not because its the 19th strain of a coronavirus discovered...there are 7 known variations of the coronavirus....these 4 strain types are more widely known as the common cold...229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1

Everyone on earth has had these 4 strains dozens of times by the time they are an adult.

Meh, maybe less republican but I don’t necessarily foresee a complete takeover of dems in Georgia. They said the same thing about N.C. after Obama won in 2008.


Now, one thing that works in favor of keeping North Carolina on the right leaning side is the very decentralized nature of our demographics . Our population is super spread out , think we have the second largest population that out of all states that lives somewhere rural. Virginia didn’t have that, it’s rural areas are sparsely populated leaving its densely populated urban blue areas to dominate. Georgia in that regards may be closer to Virginia than N.C. . Florida is similar to NC as well with a very decentralized population.
