Political Thread: The Sequel

The only 2 I can think of are Robert Kennedy Jr and Tulsi Gabbard. There are plenty of Republicans endorsing Harris.
Then in policy they were never conservative. Geez folks this isn’t hard or even newsworthy. Just like Gabbard and JFK JR, they were never socialists

We do not need the extreme right in Congress like Matt Gaetz, MTG, or Chip Roy though. We need more like Paul Ryan and John Boehner.
They are more conservative than The ones today. From the way you talk I would think that you would like the newer Republicans better.

Kroger? Where tf is there a Kroger within like 400 miles of here!
Kroger owns Harris Teeter. Food Lion is owned by a Dutch-Belgian multinational corp Ahold Delhaize. They actually use the same logo there so it was funny the first seeing food lion in Europe. Most of the food we eat is produced by a small number of conglomerates and distributed by a small number of chains. The number gets smaller each year as companies merge too, see Mars-Kellanova. Decreasing competition can’t be good but this is where we’re headed.

What if they all did it because they had cover of "supply chain" issues? Got to be a reason why grocers in general.....not just Kroger.....saw profit increases of hundreds of percents. You had big oil not even hiding it when they were blatantly saying they were paying back stockholders when gas was damn near $5

There's a lot to unpack here.

Do you remember how bad the supply chain sucked for most of 20 and 21 it's still not right today.

Did they see an increase in profits strictly due to price increases or was there additional volume? Remember you couldn't eat in a restaurant for what a year? Also who saw it increase by 100s of percents? I'm genuinely curious.

When oil tanked to what $20 a barrel in mid 2020 did people really not think big oil wasn't going to come back and get those lost profits? Not saying it's right but you had to see that coming.

Electricity, oil, Internet, and Insurance are all businesses that have some kind of collusion or regional monopoly that makes it hard to escape extreme increases. One station goes up and they all do in a 20 mile radius by the same.

As far as food that's why smaller grocers would be more ideal too in more frequent numbers. More urban areas have options, but some more rural regions get one large chain that kills small ones, but monopolizes the town and that's where it goes wrong. People aren't going to drive 20 more miles to save unless it's significant and known.
Where I live, I’m lucky to have 10 major grocery chains within 10-15 minute drive. Wegmans literally puts up a chart listing the prices from other stores at the meat section for you to see and undercuts them. I genuinely haven’t experienced as much of a rise in grocery bills as others because they’re all competing for my business and there’s constant sales. Competition is great and yes it really sucks for those in rural and small towns where there’s a monopoly.

The evil demons have surrounded a city in the West Bank, far from Hamas. For all the strides in progress the west made, it’s things like this that history will remember them for. Evil, lots of it. From world wars to nukes to colonization that won’t end even today.
