That whole winter except for a few days in mid February was ridiculous... I actually remember reading somewhere that debris on the surface of the North Pacific from the Japan tsunami may have contributed to the very unusually mild winter for the eastern 2/3rds of the US...Not sure we ever get another winter like 2011-2012.
