I'm not worried about the SE ridge. We can't expect not to see it at all the entire winter. Even in the super snowy winters I'm sure we had a se ridge for at least a week. I'd rather have the ridge in December than January or feb

I think that the issue w/ the week #1 pattern is two many cutoff lows. We need the wave to connect to the northern stream, mature then cutoff. Otherwise, we will get phasers. The Ridge over SE Canada is going to do that.
