Any setup that can give where I live now 11” I support. ?
I see what you did there lol....we have had a few decent anafrontal snows here but it is rare....
Happens in Tennessee, can't give you precise examples though.. Maybe cyclogent will chime in on that.
I will take #8 for the win. Check please!GEFS member 8 would be something. LolView attachment 58443View attachment 58444View attachment 58445
Thanks... I remember 94 being a big disappoint.. I was 24 at the time. If it snowed it wasn't much. The cold was incredible though. 1 at the airport, -6 on my porch therm.I got 4 inches last December in an anafrontal situation. Easier to happen on this side of the Apps as the cold can crash in much faster that it can East of the Apps. Powerful cold fronts with true Arctic air can get it done. January 17th, 1994 is a really major example here. Not sure if it made it East of the Apps or not. Brief heavy rain/freezing rain switched over to snow as the cold raced into the region. It was severe cold, temps fell from upper 20s to single digits between noon and 5PM with 1/4th inch zr and 6 inches of snow on top of it. I believe Chattanooga probably transitioned from rain to freezing rain with a bit of snow on top of that behind the front.
This weather hobby is fookin' maddening.Congrats TN View attachment 58466
While the SER sucks, at least you know your shutout with it, but with a terrible pac/-NAO, setups are marginal but lack deep cold so it’s a cold rain most of the time, quite frustrating, but hey keep a -NAO and we should score, right ?God: Do you want a negative NAO on crack, son?
Me: Yes please..
God: No problem, but I'm going to f*ck up the Pacific too. Cool?
Me: sigh
Vodka coldDamn, these maps are hard to read.. looks like temps at 6 am Christmas morning are between 16-20.. View attachment 58473
