I really think a threat here, if one exists, legitimately is from the 2nd wave that trails the giant trough coming in the medium range. That’s when we’ll have the subtropical jet the most well established and could have some more cold air to work with prior to its arrival but lots of time to wait and see

Warm Canada = still cold Canada (relatively speaking)

I’m not too worried about source region warm anomolies this early. To get early season snow/cold we need those big heights as is depicted in Canada imo. Shove that cold air south and maybe we can sneak one out.

When they say warm in Canada it doesnt mean its actually warm in Canada. It's never warm in Canada in the winter. But relative to their normal it's warm.

When it’s warm in Canada in cases like this, that’s because the cold air is moving somewhere else, or here, southward into our neck of the woods

This looks like rain, if not, severe weather, need a much deeper trough over the lakes out ahead of the first system and not so sure if we will get that

I think it would help if the SW slowed just a little bit more and our trough was a bit faster so it wouldn’t be cold moving in while moisture Is already here and more so cold in place with moisture moving in
