This is developing into another winter where there will be no cold air available if/when the trough sets up. Of course if that vortex keeps sitting over Alaska we’re going to have zonal flow anyway. Just like 111-12.

That winter 11. 12 was a top analog entering this winter … could be spot on afraid

I have a feeling even with the EC ridge like above we will end up getting a lot of CAD. Especially with that look.

Yeah the last several years with a cold November has interestingly had warm December’s/months after, makes sense tho retrogression takes time and it might seem like it changes right as a new month is beginning

I think our only hope is if we can get some blocking this year. Usually I focus more on the PNA but I think this year we will also need to see some strong negative NAO episodes. 1996 is a good example year we can pull for...

I don't want snow in Jan or Feb. I want snow in December because there's nothing better than snow around the holidays !

Get the ridge stuck in AK and we might be. To me the bigger key is drawing the tpv into Canada at this stage versus unloading huge cold shots into the region even of we SER for a while. Sometimes the short term loss is better for the long term gain
