Here’s the 6z MMFS.. good totals in the app mountains but not much elsewhere. I largely agree with this snowfall output. 
I thought someone stuffed, cooked, and ate you yesterday.

In short, the arctic jet steam (in blue) is coming south bringing cold air and the sub-tropical jetstream (in red) are merging in the SE. The combined effect creates a lot of divergence in the upper atmosphere which is conducive for storm development (loosely around the area circled in white).

Still some nice totals from both systems on the backside for western facing slopes. Gatlinburg still looking solid. Keeping my fingers crossed here.

Wave #4 looks to be coming down the stovepipe.
Pretty good with this hectic pattern (this is without 00z and just based on 12z runs) 
It was also about to dump more cold towards the east, just a barrage of N/S waves on top the PNA ridge

I’m asking for a friend, that would be cold for the Midwest? I’m learning what I need to root for up here!
I saw a couple posters talking about chasing to Gatlinburg early next week. Backside looks pretty good (12z EURO). Too bad I’m not going til Thursday. If I get rained on the whole time I swear to god..

Mexico getting snow before most of this board
I’m about to pull the trigger, Jimmy. Go up Sunday and come back Tuesday morning. All models have between 2-6 inches now and it falling Monday afternoon and evening. Got my eye on a cabin 3,000 feet up.
