Wintry More SE Snow ? (1/16-1/18)

13 at KATL, 35 at KRAL, amazing the difference, NC temps just suck right now...

The snow we have is amazing, it is powder the kind you get in Aspen, etc...Blowing off roofs looks like a blizzard at times, even though the sun is peeking out..Atlanta..

The last couple of bands to come through this morning really put some down. I ended up with 2" of powder, and it is currently 14F with a windchill of -1F at 10:45 AM.

I feel the frustration of folks around CAE, but it looks like folks west of town are changing over. It is just a struggle to get cold air in there form any direction but the northeast. Hopefully those temps can drop a few degrees before all of this pulls out.

Similarly, that's happening in my backyard, too.

You're in Blythewood? At least you're in one of the highest spots in the area...>400'; that should help some.

We ended up with 1" on this side of Cleveland. I usually do better than in downtown Cleveland and definitely better than Chattanooga. Maybe it's being so much closer to the mountains?
Bradley Sherrif says the roads are ice in Cleveland especially all the secondary. Im southeast side of town. We got like a half inch. All the models had us in 2-3". Busted bad here but im sure it had to do with the temp rising to 38° yesterday when the first band had fell apart. Noticed the bands fell apart nearing here. Oh well ill take my 1/2"

I look like Santa claus does that count.... I have legit light snow, amazing how quickly it started reaching the surface. I'm loving the band that is developing from Rah to mby... and I will guarantee you get 8" minimum. Btw I just noticed your not too far from Campbell University, my daughter is there and they actually cancelled their classes. First time they've done that since she's been there I think.
Yeah man campbell isn't that far away from me at all. I think everything is shut down around here

Trust the process. I'm trying to not go off the deep end but it should move to and develop over our area soon. Hrrr develops an 850 low that moves ese from clt toward ilm. I think we are good for heavy snow this afternoon but man I'm about to die

Finally starting to see some legitimate eastward propagation of the line to the east. Should at least be raining here in a few. Let me know when you see flakes mixing in. I shouldn’t be too far behind.

Such a shame the SC warm nose was a real problem. Moderate snow here right now and I'll probably wrap up completely by noon. Chris, you would've been right even here if I wasn't in the mid 30s at best.

12 degrees and 2 inches of powder snow in Central AL. Do not think we have seen that in forever. '93 was just as cold or colder but the snow was not all powder, tho there was a lot more of it. Just Amazing to see that here. We are up to a scorching 15 degrees now.;) Maybe 2014 but not sure how cold it got then. So maybe a slight over dramatic on my part, but still cold AF

Rain cold! Rain cold! ALEET ALEET I just changed to snow

Nice! Just saw this after my other post.

That heavier band in Chatham county should start pivoting and sliding east, also starting to see bands forming south of Wake county, so expect this to start getting good after noon.

I can't upload my other images for some reason, but this was just whenever it started sticking here. I think that we ended up somewhere a little above half of an inch.IMG_0440.JPG

Pretty good snow showers in and around Nashville. Small but steady snow flakes. Low level moisture I am assuming as they are not showing on radar.

Skies lightening, it's almost over! Didn't get the pivot! :(
Never made it below 32 imby. Had an hour of rain to start. Got a solid inch, but bust on temps, busted the storm. Could've easily been 3-4" forecast, oh well! Good luck to my RAH peeps

Enjoy it! It's been going for a few hours now in Pittsboro

Im very happy, i seen 3 snows this year so far, thats a blessing. Ready for the warm up for awhile and reload again end of month. Oh, the winds last night made this look like a Mini Bliz.

I wish people will indicate where they are located when commenting out their locales conditions. Some of you don't have your location in your profile.

Yeah no kidding, the wind was howling and it actually made mini snow drifts here lol

Yeap it's been a heck of a winter so far and a fun one to track compared to past few years... I got one more in me for us to chase down before the spinny things start pecking around corner

Yeah, Ive got one more in me to, if not than im good anyways lol.

Picking up in Garner now. Sucked waiting on it but from everything I am seeing model wise, all of Wake should be looking at a nice storm with heavier bands spreading from South and East. I think we are good for at least 6" and can't complain about that

We must be kindred spirits. Upon my first flakes, those were legitimately my first words as well ;)
Moderate almost heavy snow now and already coating everything

Coming down hard here between Cary and Garner, everything covered except asphalt just starting to whiten

Completely dry, temp at 38 and no snow in sight in Eastern Johnston County.

I'm about to jump off the cliff.
