I think the bigger issue that making adjustments to the track was the fact that starting yesterday they began shrinking the size of the cone. This tells me they were completely dismissing the globals despite the fact that globals do a better job with upper air features and steering flowIt's a shame they didn't stay with that thought instead of their fantasy path west. It's actually going to end up further east if you are looking at the line drawn down the middle.
Yeah, that's still very much NNE...They just did a center drop View attachment 152090
Bad thing is center fixes will be a little less frequent once it gets over land. At this forward speed a 3 hour delay on that turn makes a big differenceYeah, that's still very much NNE...
They usually don't verify. Wind maps are almost always overdone.Haven’t seen a gust on land over 100 yet that I see. Have a hard time seeing the winds inland verifying
To be fair, where it has most likely happened, there is literally no one there to report.Haven’t seen a gust on land over 100 yet that I see. Have a hard time seeing the winds inland verifying
You’re best verification are the offshore buoys. They usually don't verify. Wind maps are almost always overdone.

Very fortunate for that interaction with the Yucatan peninsula that degraded it. Those sub 900 model runs might not have been too far off otherwise. She really did strengthen all the way until landfall. If she just had 2-3 more hours over water, Cat 5 was imminent.

Connor croff is getting hammeredBrad Arnold’s stream is pretty good right now.
They’ve captured some major power flashes, and yet somehow the power is not completely out.
Watch any stream from Perry….Haven’t seen a gust on land over 100 yet that I see. Have a hard time seeing the winds inland verifying

Yeah, there was a shot of the Nam with wind gust earlier. I think it has the right idea along the east side of the state. It is way east of the NHC track at landfall
Looks like only about 15-20 miles? Am I missing something? It is way east of the NHC track at landfall
This one image makes me think perhaps those on the west side of the track further inland are not off the hook
