This is a situation that is impossible to handle with local and even regional resources. I'm sure the first responders have been going non stop for nearly 24 hours now. It's time to activate a large military response, if they haven't yet. I'm sure there will be plenty of second guessing when this is over, but this has been well forecast for days. People have to be told to evacuate or inform them that they may be on their own for while.
Hope it doesnt ruin the Labor Day weekend.Nice moisture fetch from gulf next eekend

Will be hard for Harvey to strengthen if the 18z HWRF is right. Harvey is not stacked vertically at 30hrs. We will have to see how long it takes to re-stack to see how much if any restrengthening occurs.
Impressive indeed.... Looks like center is around Victoria, this thing getting close to getting back over waterThat said, looking at radar, it looks pretty stacked to me. In fact still getting some 60-65mph bins on radar on the northwest side. That is very impressive.
IDK, but if its stacked with all that energy still in Harvey, it might not take much for a fast ramp up in intensity. 3km Nam had Harvey in the gulf longerThat said, looking at radar, it looks pretty stacked to me.
