Tropical Major Hurricane Florence

That band between Goldsboro and Pikeville is super greasy. Ridiculous rainfall amounts in the last hour

Chatham County hasn't received anything but a steady breeze w/occiasional gusts. No rain.

I'm back two minute walk from CCCC's Pittsboro campus, Oakwood Dr. Just lost power, I'm outside smoking a cigarette and getting sprinkled on.

Which is unavoidable at this point, but I'm on a decent elevation and prepped since Saturday so now it's just a matter of grabbing the soap and running outside!

I want to thank each and everyone of you btw. Aside from my love of weather and career/personal aspirations, just from the preparation aspect this board has been the single biggest asset for myself (and by proxy my family). I look forward to what the future brings wrt to this board and the vast wealth of information collected amongst you here.

i would think so. Looking at the Radar Scope 1hr rainfall loop it’s pretty evident where the training has set up. With Florence moving so slow I wouldn’t expect much change any time soon. If you are experiecneing some heavy rain now, I wouldn’t count on that changing for a while
 
Just got put under a Flash Flood Warning. Heaviest rain of the day just started. We’ll see if it keeps raining this time.
 
What's the chances of this thing staying west and not turning until later, putting the upstate in a bad spot

The coast is getting washed out. Meanwhile, I just bush hogged the field under partly cloudy skies. I need some rain up here!
 
Thanks for the quick replies with the Euro maps! Seems to be much higher totals than other models and matches up more with the NWS and WPC hand made maps. Hang tight and stay safe everyone!
 
Local mets in upstate calling for 6-10" I just do not see that happening. Maybe the very far eastern side.

That’s not happening! Greenville county is in the 1-1.5” range on Euro!:(
 
Wind gusts getting up near that 70mph range late Saturday night early Sunday morning here in Greenville county(per Euro). Looks like wind gusts exceeding 60mph is a pretty good bet

I know, so I'm not sure where they getting those totals from. Yeah I know climatology wise with upslope and all that, but even then no way we see those kinda totals

I think 2.5” is a pretty good bet
