Light snow east of Cary
Rates are picking up here. And flake size is getting better vs the tiny flakes we have had all day. So maybe there is hope for at least 3 inches here in Columbia area.

Aside from the snow/cold/wind, another impressive aspect of this storm has been the incredible kick ass job that TDOT has done with ensuring the highways are clear. Travel is moving along like any other day, wasn't exactly expecting that lol.

Had friends flying to Orlando this morning... there 10:50 flight just de iced and took off, fyi
I would be shocked if anything takes off before late tonight

Over 5” here now. Still coming down good. Beautiful!
One thing interesting about this drier, smaller flaked snow is that it falls in between the grass blades, so it was obvious it was accumulating on the paved surfaces before it was obvious it was accumulating on the grass!
Supposedly the heavier rates were to get here during the latter part of the afternoon and throughout tonight.

I’m in Mooresville. Measured 5” at 12:30. Non stop snow since then so I’m guessing I’m at 6-1/2” now.
Congrats Pack! I know you’d been sweating bullets the last 48 hours. Glad it worked out your way
Have not measured but probably about 1/2 inch in Jasper, GA. That was on the low end of expectations. Always want more, but enjoying that many of you are hitting the jackpot with this storm. Congratulations ... what a memorable storm for you all in the Carolinas (and for some not too far from me!)
Let's hope we can do this again at least one more time this winter ... and get more of the board into the game!

The wind has really picked up the last 30 minutes. Unfortunately won't have any more accurate measurements. Last 1 was 5+ before the winds started to blow.

Officially had about a half hour of flurries in Tallahassee from that renegade snow band that rotated around the backside of the ULL from southeast Alabama into the panhandle. Made all my rooting for my old N.C. peeps feel worth it! Hope y'all continue to crush it up there!

Rates have slowed down a bit and, looking at radar, I think my location is winding down after nine straight hours of snow. 18.5°.
Measured right at 4” about 45 minutes ago. Winds are picking up and definitely getting a lot of blowing snow in the gusts. What a storm!

Yard and road are covered and these are tiny flakes. Hope to get some heavy snow and see how fast it piles up.

I’m not sure I ever remember having snow here without some ice as well. I’ve always heard snow here requires basically everything to go perfectly and we finally got it

Still 38 on James Island while it's 32 at Northwoods Mall. Big difference
Hell yeah! It is finally coming down heavy with bigger flakes here (they were very small for a while). And when the gusts hit, total snow globe effect. I’m so happy we both are finally cashing in
