Wintry Machine Learning Mauler 1/30-2/1

Honestly I don't think Columbia is getting what they hoped for, else we'd be getting more reports from down that way.
West Columbia here. Our local tv met just said the snow is still coming. But they keep saying that at each update. Yes it’s snowing but it’s tiny little flakes. Like last year. Very little accumulation. So not sure what the tv met sees. I hope he’s right or Columbia will get may get 1-2 inches at very most. And that may be too high. Local friends on social media are really upset with how the news hyped this. So far the Cold is real the Snow not so much. It’s been pretty to look at falling. But disappointing when you look at the ground.

Visalia is now getting flurries as of 2PM report. It’s moving ESE in my direction. If it holds together, snow could start here ~4PM, which HRRR agrees with! Before that there’ll likely be some rain til it gets cold enough. Now skies are dark gray and temp is only 42 vs models’ having ~48.

@WxDawgWx : looking good

growing up (Gen X) we always knew we would have a good snow if it was coming our way up 85 from Atlanta. This is such a different setup for snow around here (I think). So it’s wild to me to see the reports yall are posting from down there…

I can hardly believe that we're going to get to see some flakes two years in a row, let alone some accumulation. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I will!

Got about 4” or so here. Hard to measure. Almost whiteout conditions at times. Newest hrrr filled in the donut hole. Also, somehow it shows my backyard with a jackpot.

6" here?! I have my doubts but the heavier snow is slowly creeping NW, has reached eastern part of my county
