For my first post. Every snowman needs his best friend: snowdog.
Love this snow. I’m calling it the Carolina Catch the way all the models showed at the end an arm with a hand that looked like it had a mitt on it with the snowfall distribution.

My parents over in High Point said their road is largely clear of snow today, despite the ~11" that fell on Sunday. The sun does quick work on high-ratio snow, I guess. Brutal.

Likely the final map from MHX, I reported 12 7/8” at midnight which may account for that small orange area just west of Greenville. Every county in the CWA except for Dare saw at-least one 12” report.
Still got wintry wonderland mode activated in shady areas. 
The major indices on 1/31/26, the day of the majority of the storm, were near ideal overall:
- strong +PNA: +1.4
- strong -AO: -2.9
- weak -NAO: -0.5
- moderate -EPO: -1.0
- moderate -WPO: -0.7
- MJO: moderate phase 7 (I had thought it would be phase 8)
