Wintry King Kong Winter Storm Potential Feb 13th-16th

This rain band that moved through Ttown means business. 26mph wind gust. Temperature has dropped 3 degrees in 20 minutes and the wind is howling out of the WNW.

Precip is pretty much done. I got mostly sleet and freezing rain. There are still some on and off snow flurries now. There'a light ice glazing on everything outside, with sleet pellets accumulating less than half an inch (I haven't taken any serious measurements for sleet yet). My temperature is falling back down, right now at 26. Winds are picking up, and every now and then I hear a tree limb cracking and popping in the distance with these breezes.

I can confirm the WAA as well. Plus it looks like the low is going to come right over me almost halfway between Mobile, AL and Pensacola. I'm in Fairhope, AL and on Mobile, AL radar it looks like the low pressure itself is going to come onshore very close to me. Pretty impressive temperature gradient here with 39 degrees being reported at the Mobile, AL regional airport while it's 61 degrees in the Gulf just 10 miles south of Orange Beach. Had a pretty intense thunderstorm here about 30 minutes ago at 45 degrees. There are a couple of nasty looking storm cells heading this way from the Gulf that look to hit between here and Pensacola. One cell in particular looks like a super cell you'd see in the spring or summer.

Based on where the low appears to be coming ashore it looks like anyone east and south of a Hamilton, AL to Athens, AL line is going to be spared any more significant icing.

It's a blazing 41 here. I'm not complaining though. I like having electricity too much. Not saying it won't turn back to freezing later but it's too warm for now ?

Any reports out of Florence, Alabama?
I am about 3 miles N of downtown Florence and have a steady rain falling and a temp of 30°. Ice is rapidly forming on trees and bushes in my yard. Flowtown is about 5-10 miles west of me and he said he is having sleet. I am hoping it changes over here quickly or things will get pretty bad with ice accumulation

Thank you, and, good luck on the change over to sleet and snow

yep in Central sleeting gard

What I'm seeing on some of the newer runs is just insane cold blasting in tonight further east and much colder than what's currently forecast. I'm not sure if it'll be 28 or 20 here tomorrow morning or even colder. I'm pretty sure any areas where there's a lot of water standing there'll be ice tomorrow due to a flash freeze especially further W in AL.
