Wintry King Kong Winter Storm Potential Feb 13th-16th

24.3 and still dropping. Thick cloud deck above is helping that arctic air flood in more
Temperature still dropping here too. Down from 27 to 26. Airport seems to be holding steady at 28. The airport might get above freezing today but I doubt it will where I am.

IDK. Woodstock seems rather likely to see a dusting. Here, it'd be rather shocking, but being the weenie I am, the window has my attention today regardless LOL.
Me too, lol. The heavier stuff near Chattanooga doesn’t seem to be progressing much, but there are more mping snow reports around metro ATL now so maybe we still have a chance.

They have the damn reading in the middle of a runway at the busiest airport in the world.... o_O

Where in Woodstock are you? I am off Neese Rd just north of 92. My tiny flurries are slightly bigger now but def don't have a coating lol.
I am on Mill Creek Ct. Near the border of Holly Springs and Woodstock. LOL It is a very thin coat! The deck has a coating of ice so it is sticking there in a very thin layer. I can only see it collecting in some leaves in the lawn but the grass is beginning to show some in places.

Radars in Columbus MS and Huntsville seem a little brighter , while Bham seems to be getting dimmer...they are upstream, so maybe it picks back up here...Radars don't detect this kind of snow very well!

Im interested to see the official measurement from BHM. We’ve had many flurry type events, but we have not had measurable snowfall since 12/8/17. It’s been a long time coming for those of us in the metro. This was a much welcomed event. Made my winter!

Now that I’m outside I am seeing snow flurries. Also at some point early this morning it must have snowed because there’s a dusting of snow on house roofs and elevated surfaces.

Sun starting to come out now, still flurrying, highly doubt it happens but I hope we get some convective snow showers.

I am trying to determine why the snow on my street is melting at 17 degrees.
Sublimation is the conversion between the solid and the gaseous phases of matter, with no intermediate liquid stage. For those of us interested in the water cycle, sublimation is most often used to describe the process of snow and ice changing into water vapor in the air without first melting into water. - I think this is something that normally happens during the daylight hours tho I could be wrong.

I’ll tell you what, I don’t like this particular phenomenon.
