24.1 and still dropping. Thick cloud deck above is helping that arctic air flood in more
Temperature still dropping here too. Down from 27 to 26. Airport seems to be holding steady at 28. The airport might get above freezing today but I doubt it will where I am.24.3 and still dropping. Thick cloud deck above is helping that arctic air flood in more
No doubt, we know how it feels! We are jealous of you all up there many times!Man I'm jealous of you posters in central AL getting that snow!
Me too, lol. The heavier stuff near Chattanooga doesn’t seem to be progressing much, but there are more mping snow reports around metro ATL now so maybe we still have a chance.IDK. Woodstock seems rather likely to see a dusting. Here, it'd be rather shocking, but being the weenie I am, the window has my attention today regardless LOL.
They have the damn reading in the middle of a runway at the busiest airport in the world....Temperature still dropping here too. Down from 27 to 26. Airport seems to be holding steady at 28. The airport might get above freezing today but I doubt it will where I am.
Got a little something coming down in Woodstock ,Ga. Real fine but coating my deck and leaves in my lawn.
I am on Mill Creek Ct. Near the border of Holly Springs and Woodstock. LOL It is a very thin coat! The deck has a coating of ice so it is sticking there in a very thin layer. I can only see it collecting in some leaves in the lawn but the grass is beginning to show some in places.Where in Woodstock are you? I am off Neese Rd just north of 92. My tiny flurries are slightly bigger now but def don't have a coating lol.
Yep, I can see them, too! Tiny, tiny dandruff size flakes...but they are there! Ceilings appear to be lower than they were a few hours ago. Could be a good sign.Lil flurries at the ATL airport!
Try tis one Montgomery, AL Weather Radar | AccuWeatherAnybody got any good Radar feeds I'm just looking at the stupid weather channel radar and seemingly can't get a idea of which way these snow showers are going?
3 Flurry events this year and not even one of them could be a measurable snow. The Year of the TraceThere appears to be something frozen falling from the sky IMB. #flurryjam '21! ?
Wet streets, or sublimating? The later I presume at that temp.I am trying to determine why the snow on my street is melting at 17 degrees.
Send that sucker east will ya!Yep it is snowing....it just got darker. It is very pronounce now.
They look basically dry. I guess the snow is straight up evaporating without even melting.Wet streets, or sublimating? The later I presume at that temp.

Sublimation is the conversion between the solid and the gaseous phases of matter, with no intermediate liquid stage. For those of us interested in the water cycle, sublimation is most often used to describe the process of snow and ice changing into water vapor in the air without first melting into water. - I think this is something that normally happens during the daylight hours tho I could be wrong.I am trying to determine why the snow on my street is melting at 17 degrees.
I’ll tell you what, I don’t like this particular phenomenon.Sublimation is the conversion between the solid and the gaseous phases of matter, with no intermediate liquid stage. The sun will come out and then a few minutes later the snow picks up. Crazy! Yeah, I wonder why it’s melting when it’s way below freezing.
