I still think more than the 4 NW counties will be impacted, but DadofJax took a lot of undeserved crap yesterday, and it's turning out his prediction was quite accurate.

Here in the Florence/Shoals area of NW AL we've been in a dry slot all morning watching returns go to our S.. E.. and West. Since this would most probably be freezing rain if it hit us (I'm at 28°)... I'm good with that

Rain slowed down and water starting to freeze back. That moderate rain must have been warm from the warmer air aloft.

Now back to a light sleet. The temperature is back to 28. Back edge fo the precip should be past in the next hour.

The freezing line may get that far northwest, but the temps on the other side, at least for N AL, are likely way off. I've been checking on HRRR predictions vs. verification and they have been too high for most of the past 12 hours for my location.14z hrrr is still on fire . Pushes the freezing line way NW

The problem is the low is going to end up further north through SE Alabama . I’m not saying it’s gonna be 44 but the trend on all guidance is warmer in general

Arctic air mass is way too shallow. WAA seems to overtake it even near the surface.
