Wintry King Kong Winter Storm Potential Feb 13th-16th

I live in Tuscaloosa and feel like I am right on the line of the storm where we could get a lot of snow/ice or a complete bust and just rain. I know there’s still time for things to move further east and hoping things trend more that way

What is keeping some of this from moving into the Carolinas? That's what is puzzling me

WAD instead of CAD: Warm Air Damming. SER pumping up aginst MTNs. Low level artic air cant bleed in our area cause of mtns and LP ridng up the spine giving us a glorious SE-SW wind flow.

Maybe somehow by some miracle we can trend that second storm for us to the East. It's hard to believe that they might be getting two major winter storms in two days.

As long as that subtropical ridge just keeps rotating away in nearly the same spot, it won't change the storm track too much unfortunately. Welcome to La Nina without a -NAO.

Also without the PNA/-EPO being in the right spot to suppress the SE ridge in the first place. Image if we got -NAO,+PNA and -EPO or just a -EPO and +PNA(in the right spot) of course. Maybe this winter could've been better for us:(

CMC is cold post storm
