I’m exactly 15.5 miles NW of Birmingham . There is currently a 3 degree temp difference . Yes I clocked the mileage on my way home earlier

Yeah I can't seem to top 4 inches lol Waco chase was around that plus the big snowstorm in 15 here and a couple before I left Alabama
Just a dusting here the real snow is gonna be after 3-4pm

The most snow i've experienced were 10" in March 93, then 8" in Dec 17. Hoping tomorrow will be my third snow of 8"+.

Yeah when I chased in Abilene especially after I got my hotel room i even remember that happening there thinking I had drove 3 hours for nothing lol

Concerning...Heavy snow

SUMMARY...Areas of moderate to heavy snow are expected to increase
in coverage this afternoon in portions of the discussion area
through 00Z.
DISCUSSION...Latest observations/radar mosaic imagery indicates
widespread areas of light to moderate snow bands migrating
east-northeastward across the discussion area. Embedded heavier
snow was also reported - most recently across Altus/Lawton/Hobart in
southwestern Oklahoma and near Odessa in southwest Texas. The bands
across southwestern Oklahoma may produce 1+ inch-per-hour snowfall
rates as they expand northeastward toward the I-35 corridor in
central Oklahoma over the next couple hours.
Farther southwest, models/observations indicate that coverage of
moderate to heavy snow will increase over time from the Texas Big
Country northeastward to western North Texas as forcing for ascent
associated with a mid-level trough over New Mexico overspreads the
area. A gradual increase of 700hPa flow in central Texas will also
contribute to increased ascent in this region. The greater chance
of 1 inch-per-hour rates will generally increase along the I-20
corridor in west Texas (Midland to Abilene to Fort Worth) in the
21-00Z timeframe.

Yep, pretty striking difference from NW to E and SE. The closest weather station to me, just north of Warrior, is reporting 32 (not shown on the map).

He has been fighting it all along. Wednesday he said he was going out on a limb and saying there would be no winter storm in his viewing area. Wasn't 24 hours later he had to take that back.
