Pattern June Presented by: Heat and Humidity

What a miserable day here today in Raleigh. 64 high with nonstop rain from morning until now. Looks like it may stop in the next couple hours, but my drive home tomorrow looks unfavorable.
Yeah , pretty incredible. Even Columbia sc looks to be in mid 60s tomorrow !

What an enjoyable walk it was for mid June with low 70s, low 60 dewpoints, and a pretty stiff breeze. I was actually a tad chilly in my shorts when the wind was strongest!
Was hovering in 60s all day here with stiff NE breeze . Glad you got to enjoy it, Charleston and much of lowland sc seemed to be a good bit cooler than you today as well!

If it was anytime November - January I would be absolutely loving today . Had it been 70 at least I would have enjoyed today ! But mid June low 60s? I’m young but the records back me up, have to go back to before my time to find something where highs hovered 59-60 all day. Maybe this is making up for all those days this winter , especially in places along the coast like Wilmington and new bern where dews managed to crack 70 with highs in 80s in mid winter.

Pouring in Carolina beach again and the radar looks like a couple inches overnight if this setup continues to feed these bands in overnight.

Not to often you get a high of 64 in mid June....in fact its a record min max and its not even close, the previous min max for PGV on June 15th was 71, the record for the 16th is 67 so that might be safe....

4 days till the summer solstice, and I'm running the heat. Gonna struggle to get out of the 50's today.

Like @SD said earlier... We gonna fry for this.

Had another 1 or so overnight bringing my doppler estimates to 3 inches. Went to try a walk on the beach but the very stiff NE winds are sandblasting our legs couldn't even imagine what that must feel like during a hurricane.

And a repeat today. :(

So I have a question for those that are around the Gwinnett County area. Last night after the storms moved out was it very windy? I watched the storm and I saw some branches fall (small) from my tree and then when I went out this morning there was a decent (could do damage to the house or car) branch that looked like it had been impaled into the ground and then fell over. I can't remember if the winds were high because I didn't pay attention. So if anyone remembers it being windy (8pmish-7amish) can ya'll let me know? If not then I need to get a camera for the front porch! Thanks!

HRRR and 3K are hell bent on getting some elevated cape into the area tonight and really steepening the MLLRs. I feel like at some point late this afternoon into the early overnight we are going to end up setting up a band or 2 of rain centered around this area that will put down some impressive totals

I wish the HRRR4 would come back. It was doing really well.

My parents live in Walnut Grove and they said it was windy during the storm but wasn’t bad after, the hail caused a few tree branches to fall. My dad thinking it was a down burst but my guess it was just damage from the hail and straight line winds.

I don’t pay hotel prices May-Aug. September-April are my months.

This is nutty. We have windows open (have since last night), our house temp dropped to 73, and it's hanging out around 70 right now outside. It's June, not April and yet our A/C probably isn't going to come on. It only came on late afternoon yesterday too.

I am just happy to finally have some rain. It sucks we won't have any thunderstorms to enjoy, but that sounds like that will change with chances approving everyday this week.

Storms still a ways out off the beach but the long rolling thunder is loud. Gonna get drowned here AGAIN today.

Of note the HRRR sucks and missed this entire blowup. It had me dry till overnight just a few hours ago.

Upper low decays and kicks, replaced by a low amplitude trough and energetic flow. Enjoy the lower dew points through the rest of the week, it's going to get gross over the weekend into next week

Good thing this couplet faded out and it's something to keep and eye on as this convection closes in on me

Good! Its going to take the rest of this summer with dews around 75 and highs around 90, a hurricane strike, and the warmest winter ever to make up for this absolutely horrid stretch of weather.

69 at midday in the middle of June. That has to be close to a record low minimum on the high, if it isn't one.

Should maybe correct what I was saying earlier. With the way the weather looks, is it mid-March or mid-June?

I'll change the forecast
