i dont know why I can sometimes post gifs and sometimes not but this was a gif of literally all the rain and storm skipping over my location and redeveloping to my south… gut wrenching

Man someone to my S is getting a lot of rain right now. It's been pouring on and off here
Is there not a flash flood warning in place?! 
I had written it off before bed. Then I had the whole bright lightning and loud thunder wake up call. Pretty impressive coverage for most of the state over the last 12 hours
UKMET has a.. severe wx/tornado setup late this weekend with flat 500mb flow but minor low level turning

I think the radar estimates are running high tbh. My weatherflow station is only at .48
We will see though .48 seems low but I haven't gotten out of bed to look, I'm happy either way

Looking at medium range tonight … wow looks like we are for real going to try and make a run at some very pleasant 70s and maybe even 60s as highs for a stretch in a week or soo … really unheard of stuff .. not even crazy dew points either .. absolutely outstanding

We've been drought free here since June 1st. We were flat until then but we had a monster month for rain in June with well above normal rains. We saw some areas break 20 inches for the month. July has been similar but not as impressive until tonight. The actual reporting station at the airport has missed tonight's big totals but was already at a +12 inch surplus year to date.

Had a frog strangler last night while I slept. Briefly woke up and heard a few claps of thunder and some HEAVY rain. Got 2.9" in about 3hrs. The big majority of it fell in about 2 hours though.
