A typical summer diurnal range would yield a 100 degree high for today, not that I think we are getting that hot but it sure would be easier starting off this warm . 94-96 today perhaps .

Must be some downsloping going on because much of the Virginia foothills are in the 80s. Lynchburg had a low of 76 at 1 am but at 5 am it was up to 82.

It's already thinning along the va border so I'm not sure it'll be much of a hindrance for us like it will farther west in NC into the upstate and NGa

Yep gonna leave early in the AM, topsail beach imo is one of the most underrated spots along the NC coast it’s beautiful there

It’s also quickly eroding , think it’s the fastest eroding beach in the state . Thanks to ... wrong thread . Lots of those properties are one bad storm away from going from oceanfront to ocean property . Best beach is Emerald Isle/ Atlantic Beach , everyone in Raleigh knows this !
