Misc Jukin June

Nope. And it's easy to get humid with a wet ground. Steamy...
Yeah more rain means more humidity, but at least it keeps the temps in check right ? I mean its hard to get to 100 degrees with a wet ground. In fact, every time i've experienced 100 degree heat it was associated with dry weather.

A good pictorial of the effect of rain/cloud cover and summertime temps ...

Wish there were a way to post these side by side, but the idea is apparent ...

Yay rain! :)

Well folks - we have a yellow X, but the chance of formation is near 0%

Lol, what a massive fail by Joe Bastardi. I honestly think he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about a majority of the time and he says things to get clicks and draw attention to himself by hyping almost every weather event. Literally nothing supported any legitimate/widespread tornado threat like this. I also like how most of today's severe reports occurred in/around Charlotte far removed from any severe risk.

He's wrastlin' with the weather ... ;)

Whopping .09 of rain today ! :(
With Robert talking NW flow and dry pattern coming after this week, the drought will come roaring back! Deep soil moisture is still lacking!

From the article: "Incredibly, this request comes as the US Global Forecast System, the nation's premiere forecast model for everything from hurricane tracks to 10-day weather forecasts, continues to get distanced by the European forecast model, which assimilates real-time data far better than the American model and consistently produces significantly better forecasts."

Why even put more money into improving the GFS when it always seems to trail the Euro? The better Euro is available to all anyway.

Can't make this up. Storm popping 2 miles to my east

If yesterday becomes a trend I'm going to need a boat! Here in my area of mid ga we had the heaviest rain I've seen in years! About 3-4 little pop up systems seemed to just sit right on top of us throughout the day and WSB is calling for even more, and heavier rain today. Not in any SPC area, hope it stays that way but I'm very glad to see the rain.

I'm also in agreement with you guys, we are due for a good winter with some real snow! I barely even got to break out my jackets last year.

I honestly love this rain, my lemons trees are very happy.

Ok, so today is my day for the Heavy stuff. Just got a confirmed report that the Hoover I-459 corridor is having rain in the 1 inch per hour rate right now. I am with Storm, never thought I would say it, BUT, I am ready for a drier pattern. Mowing once a week isn't working right now.

Been going back and forth from heavy rain to sun. Feels humid as hell when the sun pops out. So far its just been rain. Wonder if we'll get any thunder and lightning, too.
