New day 1 has a enhanced risk for severe storms across the Carolinas. Also a 5% chance of tornados across central NC.View attachment 20495View attachment 20496
Wow, I just saw this, but I was going to say it sure has that stormy feel today. It's warm, humid, and windy this morning.
Damn impressive probsBiggest change since the previous SPC outlook is the addition of a 45% risk of wind damage in the coastal plain of NC & SC.

Agreed. I like the weekend through maybe Tuesday for summer mcs to roll in but that Saturday mcs is attached to a monster wave.Definitely don't go to sleep on Saturday if you're in the Carolinas or GA. Keep a close eye on the evolution of the MCS that'll develop upstream over the OH valley tomorrow, could see a legit risk of severe (for wind damage) show up for any one of these locations in successive SPC outlooks.

I thought I was the only one that felt this waySeems like that use to be the standard mode for getting damaging storms in NC in the summer......I cant even count the number of times we watched rem MCS storm clusters in OH and KY in the morning dive bomb into big bowing segments over NC in the later afternoon back in the 80-90's, there certainly seems less of that now a days....

A few storms have developed around here again today. Real nice looking one to my south right now. I’ve seen some nice lightning bolts from this storm.View attachment 20513
Winds gusted to 35 and heavy rain 1-2” per hour in Wilkes..could tell it was strengthening as it headed east with more thunder
Another storm is now starting to move in from the west here again. Looks to be south again, but I got another nice picture out of it.A few storms have developed around here again today. Fingers crossed!long range HRRR so take it FWIW.
HRRR shows an interesting senecio for late tomorrow night into Saturday morning. One MCS comes in late into the overnight over GA and upstate SC. Meanwhile to the north, here comes round 2?View attachment 20540
Future radar for tomorrow, looks very promising, with a round of morning convection around 5-7 AM and another round between 2-5 PM! Cautiously optimistic! 0 rain in about 10+ days again! Ugggh@Tarheel1 theres always hope View attachment 20554
Latest run of the long range HRRR has the MCS making to GA/SC by early tomorrow morning. I bet there are some here that would like that! It should be a interesting day watching this system and seeing where it ultimately goes.Beautiful MCS this morning. The outflow makes it all the way to TN from Kansas and Nebraska per the hrrr.
Love these long trackers. Always amazing to see how strong they become.View attachment 20556
Long range HRRR also has this system coming in tomorrow afternoon. This could be the system to watch in GA, but let’s focus on one thing at a time for now.Latest run of the long range HRRR has the MCS making to GA/SC by early tomorrow morning.
