That would be on Souterly/ Southeasterly winds, and warmer temps! It’s rain in the mountains early on!
NAM 3km looks a bit drier through 35 hours.

Definitely a wetter but warmer run for those on the southern end and those east of the mountains. The cold air just doesn’t get out in front of the precip which often happens east of the mountains.

The 3k nam has a dry bias until about 24 hours in. I’ll be interested in it more tomorrow.

Well, you can see it has problems. It doesn't even show a trace of snow for the NC mountains. I call BS...
I’m sorry but the NAM was my best run yet! Almost 4 inches right over Jefferson county. I’ll take that to the bank all day!
Good point @packfan98 , was to dry with that ice event a few weeks back until it was inside 24 hours

Something is wrong with the 3k on TT. It is not displaying something correctly. Was like that on 18z too.
That was the view of the mean over the past four runs, different product than the view with all of the members.

I tossed that 3k NAM in the trash before it ran. That thing is hot garbage. I’m riding every other model to the cash counter.

You’d think, since the event onset is just over 24hrs away, the models would have a better handle on it.
I hate this run and the NAM run at the beginning. Something looked wonky. I'm not tossing but I'm hitting pause. This thing has huge bust potential either way. I'm afraid this thing could go bad as easy as it could be better. It's a frontal passage after all. A low wave riding along the front like depicted two days ago would be a nice feature to see again. This run went backwards.

I think the 3KM has a low precip bias that has been mentioned many times. Toss it and go with the 12km until we get the HRRR in range.

I think this is the first in a few hours that has people fighting over the prime jumping spot on the ledge. Myself included.
