Wintry January 21-23 2025

It's tough to tell with it dark (which is why I want to try a quick peak outside sometime shortly, but I'm definitely too old to do what I did as a young college student), but I think I saw that the road in front of my house is white. Idk

Also, maybe this stuff will end up hitting Columbia? I did just look and while Columbia's Google Maps is clean, Augusta finally has for the past hour plus or so looked as if it did on January 10th for a couple hours, which might mean an inch of snow, I'm just not sure.

20f 6 dewpoint 44% humidity under partly cloudy skies. Good to see triangle getting a decent snow but back edge is coming fast for you. I am surprised how tight the gradient was with the cut off line

Mom in Cordele said the sheriff said all of Crisp County easily had 4 inches of snow. Mom estimates she has gotten about six inches. The sheriff also stated on Facebook they are down to just one open lane on 75 and working numerous wrecks. The south isn’t equipped for this type of snow much less the smaller cities and towns. Put it like this my mom remembers the snow storm of 1973 living in Macon and said this one easily surpasses that one right now. History making snow!!!

Going to be tight here. It’s coming down pretty good now. I’d estimate we have around a half an inch maybe closer to 3/4”,but the back edge is approaching, but the banding in front of the back edge is also pretty impressive so if we can keep that off for a little bit we could maybe pile up an inch or two here.

We have less than a half of an inch but I haven’t seen the roads this bad since 2014. They are an ice skating rink. They had cops out here blocking the hill in front of my house earlier but had to leave because they are needed elsewhere. This is an unmitigated disaster. It’s like this from here to the coast in 8 different states. What a damn storm.

PGV will see more but it’s really a question of how much you value seeing snow in your backyard versus in general. Would you rather see 2 inches in your backyard or 4 inches in Greenville?

To be honest, 4 in greenville. Who knows how long it’ll be before we see something like this again?
